How you used your EDC today?

Used my Busse Assault Shaker to open a pack of CR123A's for my SureFire and before that - as work break entertainment! :D

How do you guys trim fingernails with a knife? I gotta use a pair of clippers.

Fingernails are nothin, its toenails that are a challenge ;)
Don't know really, I just do it. Knife has to be sharp and you hold it at just the right angle that your not taking your finger tip off too, not too hard to do really.

yeah...I used to trim my nails with my kukri in highschool just to make my freinds uneasy.

What was I thinking...in a place like Olathe Colorado losing a finger would cut your mathematical abilities by one 10th at least.

Today I used my Le Thiers par Chambriard stag folder to cut the straws for my kids at Burgerking (they're always too long for the short cups kiddie drinks come in). I opened some mail, as well. In the lab, I used it to remove the seal on a TSS Standard. It also came in handy trimming a painful hangnail.

Didn't have to work today so I did all sorts of things. Used the scissors on a Swisschamp to trim ye ol' "soul patch", broke down some old cardboard boxes w/ a Dozier Personal Utility. Prepared supper w/ a Tom Krein Utility in A2, peeled and sliced an apple w/ the S30V Military. My carry knife was a Large Obenauf M-2 w/ a S30V recurve blade and silver G-10 scales. Didn't use it for anything, just knifeterbated w/ it!

Great thread!

I opened the mail and my shipment of Amsoil product which only consisted of four boxes. The mail was another victim of my EDC. :D

My Katz Vets knife gets a lot of use at home, in the shop and in the workshop. Today started with slicing my breakfast tomato, opened a package of knives from the US, trimmed the edge of a sheath I'm making, cut brown paper for packaging, cut up an apple at lunch, cut up some paracord for lanyards and opened 2 boxes of stock for the shop. Also used my pocket knife twice to scrape off some muck and used a couple of kitchen knives in preparing lunch - it's been one of those knife days.

Yesterday, I used my gunting and Chinook II to cut and shape thin pieces of wood for my friend's project. I used them quite a bit and the edge was still amazingly sharp. I did most of the cutting because I couldn't stand watching her use those retractable box cutters.

Used my BM31s again at work.

I needed some sort of lettering for my group project (mentioned above), but I don't have anything like that, nor did I want something as mudane as using a marker. So I used my 31 to cut out letters (an Xacto would have worked better, if I had one) from scratch out of the Handyman's Secret Weapon, duct tape.

Ya know what they say, "If you can't duck it, fu...er...the hell with it." :D

Turns out that my AFCK got used to divide some yucca plants yesterday. Came back dull as a nickle (and full of dirt). For this reason, the fiancee and I have decided that she needs a fixed blade at work.

Today, in the middle of a crowded food court at the mall, I used my LH Snakewood Mnandi to cut my oldest daughters straw down, cut up a chicken nugget for my little one, and opened the tough plastic wrapped toy that came with the kid's meal. Later in the afternoon I assisted a pretty cute twenty-something girl in repairing her blown radiator hose. Luckily the hole was close to the clamp. I used my Large Serrated Sebenza to cut the hose and reattched it using the Philips head on my Gerber Urban Legend Multi-Tool. Took me all of about 10 minutes. And no, I didn't get her number. :grumpy:

Didn't do too much today as I spent most of the day sleeping after a night shift. However, I did slit some envelopes open for a friend at breakfast, broke down some USPS boxes that were laying around, and I trimmed a few threads, etc. The best thing though is knowing that my Paramilitary can handle a heck of alot more without any problem.

I opened my mail, a UPS package, opened the package inside the UPS package, cut open a bag of pecans, scraped some glue off the table with the tip. Cut open 2 bags of Michael Angelo's low carb Pepperoni & Cheese Facaccia Wraps. They are warming in the oven right now. I almost forgot, I cut the UPS box into 4x4 squares to use later.

Used my Squirt to shave the callouses off my hands that I get from lifting and climbing :o

I just used my new single hand SAR to lift the keyboard rest on my HP keyboard to extract three dead lady bugs out from under it... Dam these things are getting into everything! It's the lady bug attack from hell... :barf:
The little sum-bitches get into even the tightest cracks at the worst possible times...
