How you used your EDC today?

I was just wondering if you used your knife because it was handy? Or if you used it, just in case the Lady bugs were not dead? You know just in case they tried to attack you. :D Either way I understand

Used the Phillips in a SAK to open the alarm remote for the car, to install new batteries. Used a Salsa to cut open the darn bullet-proof plastic material that held my new SD media card hostage and opened some mail.

I just used my new single hand SAR to lift the keyboard rest on my HP keyboard to extract three dead lady bugs out from under it... Dam these things are getting into everything! It's the lady bug attack from hell... :barf:
The little sum-bitches get into even the tightest cracks at the worst possible times...

Speaking of ladybugs, I remember a few yrs ago, there seemed to be a plague of biblical proportions of the little guys. They seem so nice in small numbers, but when you see a nest of 200 or so in a corner of a room against the ceiling, one's opinion of lady bugs changes quickly. I don't even know how they got into the house (we were visiting my parents at the time). I promptly took out the hose of the vacuum cleaner and made quick work of them. Ever since then, I see lady bugs and think, "yuck..."

opened up the mail, cut some loose threads off some soldiers BDU's, opened up some copy paper boxes, cleaned under my fingernails, cut some parachute breakcord ties

How I used my EDCs today:

Opened manila enveloped.
Cut packaging string.
Cut packing straps.
Cut burlap bags.
Cut heavy duty plastic wrapping.

I do alot of my shopping on the web, so a major use of my knives is opening those UPS packages.

Someone forgot to tell these facts to the ones that got into the utility/storage building out back. There were dozens of them in there not too long ago and winter's long gone down here. And I doubt there were many aphids in that building.

And just so I'm not off-topic :D , I've been using my EDC lately to peel oranges and cut packaging open.

Had to open someones car who had locked their keys in, so I pryed the door open with my razel ,enough to get a coat hanger in and pull the lock up .
also opened several bags of parts, scraped a gasket, and trimmed my fingernails.

Today I used my Bob Dozier folding hunter to open the hard plastic packaging housing a Buzz Lightyear action figure we bought for our two-and-a-half-year-old son.

Used my edc to prise the smart card out of my mom and dad's tmobile phone which is on its last legs and put it in a new phone I gave them. Used it also to cut open a rather tough ;) computer program box.

Used my CRK cgg "Stars and Stripes" Sebenza to liberate my new issue of Playboy from the confines of its discreet black plastic bag!

Larry S.

I used my S30V PE Military to cut an industrial belt and to open a plastic bag. Wow.

just for fun, I shaved with my kabar dozier folding hunter this morning.

Used my new SALT 1 to cut some fishing line that had become wrapped around the dogs leg. Used it again to cut a strip of plaster to wrap my finger after I bashed into a piece of wood while chopping kindling

Used my BM705 to cut a few lengths of 1" tubular webbing in order to build some rock climbing anchors.

My buddy looked at me, knowing the strength of nylon, and questioned whether or not my knife was sharp enough for the job. A split second later, there was no doubt.

Love that BM705 and my Sharpmaker.

Didn't anyone ever tell you that you'll spoil your turtles like that? You think they get their food cut in half in nature?? :)

Used my Pat Crawford One Hand Knife to spread tuna on some toast and than cut the sandwich in half for my daughters lunch.

Used it yesterday to cut up some plastic strapping that was stuck to a 1968 Chevy Pickup that's been sitting in the woods behind my house since 1991  , you know what, after a couple hours gettin' rid of some old gas, and replacing the condenser, 2 sparkplug wires, and a little oilin' of the pistons, It started and drove :D (I only went 20 feet cause all the brake lines are rotted).

Try lettin' a new car sit in the woods unprotected for 12/13 years and see if you can get it started.

I'll have to post Before and after Pics in W&C.
