Ok.
So I went to add to my thread from last year and realized I never completed it then.

I was working far too much overtime then so...
Anyways, I took pics but I'm gonna do it now.

I took this guy our first night.
About 120 yds out.
I'm guessing he was getting old and probably was quite a looker before.

Wow, I'd love to know how old that buck is. Looks OLD!

Looks like a great trip. I know I’ve said it before, but I absolutely love the UP.

My friends farm was deeded back in the 1880's. And I was able to visit there with his grand parents and their friends. Amazing stories.

I'm fortunate to have a that friendship.

Yeah, it's a special place.

Thanks, we are all on the up swing. It’s just unfortunate gun deer in Wisconsin is so short, my only available time this year was opening weekend due to work.

Glad everyone is on the upswing. I was surprised when I hunted the first season in Wisconsin.

While deer hunting last year I found this 6 year old dry sow feeding in the bottom of a steep canyon. Just got her back from the taxidermist this week. She was eating berries when I shot, and it's been the best flavored game meat I've ever had.

Hold on, does every blind up there have a wood stove in it? If so, It's awesome. Down here some folks keep a Coleman camp heater and some extra bottles of butane in their blinds for the mornings where it drops into the 30s. Then they gamble on getting a decent strike in a 15 year old box of matches.

I've hunted spring bear a couple of times, but this is the first bear I've harvested. I saw four bears on this hunt, including a sow and cub and a brown colored color phase bear.

The first shot opportunity was 330 yards, which is normally a shot I'm comfortable with, but having seen so many bears wounded and lost in videos, I passed the shot and snuck closer. It ended with a single, 80 yard shot.

The blinds all have propane heaters like these.
I like them as I can put my coffee mug on top and keep it hot.

Decades ago a blind burnt down with a kerosene heater. Changed them all then.

Brilliant. I'm guessing these are a matter of survival up there, rather than just creature comfort.
