Hurricane Isaac

Stay safe everyone. Hope the night stays calm for all. We will be thinking about you and here to help if needed neighbor

BR is starting to get it now. Wind and rain picking up big time, but still have power.

Lots of wind and rain. Still have power for now. Tree just fell and narrowly missed the neighbors house. The storm is just south of donaldsonville.

We're 172 miles west of NO in the Jennings area - the worst has not hit us yet, just hanging and well stocked with liquor (A La hurricane party). Do wish we had an enclosed garage instead of 2 car port.

Just recalled everyone off the roads. Sustained winds in excess of 50. Too much debris is airborn to be patrolling

Having moderate winds (approx. 40 mph) here, gusts are a little higher. Light to moderate rain. Lost power 3 times but they are doing a great job of getting it back on.

Well I've been sittin here in St. Charles Parish, things have been pretty quite. Went out to clean the storm drains after the heavy rain stopped. Still no more heavy rain around here. I've just been sittin here sippin on some knob creek waitin for the weather to pass.

Still rainy and windy here in st.tammany. Thankfully I haven't lost power. Internet and cable went though. I'm very fortunate, a few different friends of mine are in their house sitting in 4+ feet of water right now, and a few others have trees on their house/cars. It sure is taking its time passing over.

I believe we are in the eye right now here in Geismar, La. (between New orleans & Baton rouge). Its pretty calm now. Ive been at work for about 36 hours at the plant, no one in, no one out. Should get relief in the morning. The wife and kids have been home in St. Amant and have not lost power yet. Did lose part of a fence though. All you Cajuns stay safe !

So far, one death is "attributed" to Isaac though I can't figure out the connection. A man was helping his friend move a vehicle from under a tree when he fell and died. It was only later the news stated he fell 18 feet out he tree.......... Detail as to why he was in the tree have not been released.

How are things looking today J? Looks like Isaac's remnants will be hitting us up here

Rain. Rain. Rain. Street and neighborhoods flooding A few levee's overtopped and causing a huge mess for some folks in cities south of us. Percy Quin state park in Mississippi has a levee that was or about to breech and ruin it. All my fishing spots are under 7-10 feet of water ( the trails to get to them....) still trying to make contact with some extended family in st charles and st john parishes. Haven't seen my folks, heard the road to their place is flooded and my mom doesn't know which end of her cell phone to talk into. But my dad knows his shit so I am not worried about them.

Get ready for a bit of rainfall. Hope y'all need it up there!:D

Dam that feeds TangiPahoa river on verge of breaking. Said it is holding now but WILL break. Giving folks 90 minutes to get the hell out of Doge if you live within 1 mile of it. This is about to be a disaster
