buck- hands down- been around for some time - u.s. company - they make traditional and modern knives - both folding and fixed- good customer service - lifetime warranty on all the knives - good prices for what you get and they also make knives at all price points - you can even get a good u.s. made knife for cheap from them!, think "bucklite"...
Case. Reluctantly. I love the company and the variety but I get a hankering for modern materials/designs and steels once in a great while. So for moderns, Spyderco.
I am excited on Zero Tolerances recently...but have much respect to the Triad lock from Cold Steel..and between these two I choose hmm..hmm..tada! Zero Tolerance!
but..but..how about Triad Lock and light as a feather sturdy knives with all g10 handles? oh my.. I am confused
Spyderco if only one, since I use folders more, and I really like the Para 2, Manix 2, and Military and trying out new steels, plus they still have some fixed blades. If I could choose one for fixed and one for folders, Swamp Rat and Spyderco (though ZT and Benchmade are close behind).
Easily KAI for me. Everything from lower end kershaws to high end zt's, a camp ax, a chopper, even shun kitchen knives! I can't really see needing something that they don't have in their inventory.
