Do you love a good flipper? Hate them for all you’re worth? Somewhere in the middle? Let us know why.

i like a personal definition of a 'good flipper'. i am not a fan of other flippers. i'm especially picky on flippers as an only means of deployment. it better be what i consider damn perfect. otherwise i value a subtle open option, and options you can personalize. not great flippers often feel like a button push you're not really involved in. Tho if it's a 'good flipper' and it's the right situation, flip flip flip. a good 'push button' type overcoming a cozy detent is a nice a feel

I don't hate 'em . I have some . Understand the addictive fidget toy aspects . But , I do find the pervasive fad to be somewhat overwhelming and tiresome . Seems like some of these new up and coming brands make nothing else . A little more variety might be nice . Or something new to focus on . o_O

Not a fan. For example, my ideal hinderer would be a slicer grind non-flipper with choil.

It’s my preferred opening system, but I’m not emotionally attached to it. I chose “lover”, because I enjoy fidget-flipping, but flippers aren’t where the sun rises and sets in the way I evaluate knives. I think 4/10 of my current collection are non-flippers.

I like them, but looking at my modern folders I currently own just one flipper. I've owned and enjoyed a few others in the past, but I guess I don't tend to hold onto them as long as I do my non-flippers.

I do like having a slow-roll opening option, and not all flippers offer that. But if I dig a knife, whether or not it's a flipper doesn't much matter to me.

I tend to prefer small, lightweight flippers. Things like the Spyderco Positron. I've yet to find a large flipper that kept my interest. Either the action isn't great or it drops shut and jacks up your thumb.

I'd prefer a smooth action under tension. Something like a Sebenza or a well polished back lock where the blade doesn't drop shut, but doesn't have any hang ups or grit either.

Meh, I am not much for the fidget factor and don't flip for fun. That isn't really why I don't care for flippers though. I am not really a fan of bearings and flippers usually have them.

However, I cannot say that I feel that strongly about it so I voted neutral.

It is probably obvious by now that I am a full on Spyderco junkie so I prefer the round hole. I do have a Southard around here somewhere. My one and only flipper and my only knife on bearings.

Just can't get into them, or see any advantage they offer .
I vote hate-but I really don't hate them. They just aren't for me but others that like them , more power to you.
I try them from time to time to see if my view will change, but they don't stay long.
