I like fast opening knives and a flipper gives that to me. Spydie hole also does it well. I hate thumb studs though.
A nice side-benefit of flippers is the built in guard that the flip tab becomes.
Everyone has their preferences, but I hate it when my folder doesn't open with minimal effort. If you don't care about speed of opening, well....everyone has a right to their preferences.
