I don't own an ESEE. Tell me why I should.

i wondered that too at one time. then i bought a 3, then i bought a 4, now im getting a 6. all in all a great american made knife. these knives are a prime example of what made in the USA is susposed to be. im proud to own them i use my 3 daily. ill use my 4 when i can get to the hills until i get my 6 that is. but to answer your question should you own one, hell ya, i think everyone should own at least one esee knife.

Yes, depending on how hostile you are you could have read it:

“Give me one damn reason I should buy an ESEE knife!”

or

“So why do you guys like ESEE knives so much and why should I also try one?”

I took it as the latter.

Oh I meant it as the latter. I had already made up my mind before the I posted the thread that I wanted an ESEE. Probably gonna get an Izula II. I need a neck knife to wear under my ascot.

izzy 2 is a good choice.

I think you should get one because I haven't even got mine in the mail yet and I'm already thinking about getting another one :)

To the OP

1) Have you done any research on what these knives are?

Yes I have.

2) Have you compared the attributes of these knives to your needs?

Absolutely!

After you've done these two things and you think an ESEE knife might be useful to you, come back, give us some info on what you plan to do with it, and we'll try to help. Until then a couple of individuals have posted some of the good general attributes of the knives.

The answers they posted were exactly what I was looking for, the reasons they each would recommend ESEE knives.

As an aside the folks here can seem a little gruff at times... ok they are. But your post looks like you've put maybe just a fraction more than no effort at all into this. That kind of wanton laziness (even if it is apparent and not actual) gets under people's skin quickly.

Perhaps people's skins may be a bit thin if trying to get them to recommend a knife they love (or at least enjoy) gets under their skin. My post was meant to be direct and to the point. Wantonly lazy.....(not actual) nobody's ever slapped that label on me but there's a first time for everything.

I myself can be a bit gruff at times. I took no offense to a single response to my post. Life is WAY to short to let the small things 'get under my skin'(other than splinters).

By the way thanks for everyones perspective.

i can't believe how arrogant people can be these days. strutting in here like they own the world and demanding we convince them to lower themselves to our level... go buy a $$$$ knife so you can pat yourself on the back and admire it on the mantle from your armchair. don't choke on your ascot.

How the f*** did you know i wear an ascot?!
I'm surprised you didn't mention my smoking jacket.
or velvet slippers.
or gold cigar cutter.
or my crystal brandy snifters.
or the fact that i'm not even typing this myself....my personal assistant is typing as i dictate.
she's also patting me on the back at the same time.

lol.....sorry....is my sarcasm showing?

I started with a Izula $55 after hearing all the hoopla, ease of carry, sheath, sharpness, edge holding, ease of customization. Every knife nut should own a Izula even if you never buy another ESEE. You will love this little knife. Then next thing you know you'll have them all. Like tattoo's or chrome fer yer Harley you WILL get more.

You guys have this all wrong. When someone asks me this question I tell them buy Esee because the blade is made with diamonds and it never needs to be sharpened. I also tell them nobody but a few very exclusive people know this and you can take the knife to a jewlery store and sell it for thousands of dollars when you get tired of it.:barf:

You will fit in fine here.

Can't think of any reason. You'd be just as well with any other brand if it fits your fancy. If you need someone to convince you to buy one of our knives, then you really don't belong here ;)

Exactly!!! When I first came here, I did not come to ask why, I just wanted to know which one to buy first. 3 knives later and I am ready to buy the next one

Man this koolaid taste good . . .

Tell me why I should own an ESEE.

Seriously, they are just good knives that serve their purpose well. Once you use one, you will need no convincing. Decide what you need the knife for and choose what fits, ESEE or elsewhere.

I was buying RAT knives when they were only being made by Ontario(which are good but I think the ESEE is better). I started buying them because I could see that they were designed as no nonsense working knives. I didn't even know about this or any forums where knife people could talk about their "addiction". That being said, I like them more now that I know the people behind them. I keep buying the ESEE's because they have met or exceeded my expectations. It's good gear you can trust and getting my trust isn't easy.

I got my first ... put it in my hand and said ... No nonsense... great working... honest to goodness working mans knife that will not let you down. If the knife does let you down the great working no nonsense knife maker will provide you with a new one or tell you where you can get a knife that will suit you better.

bought my first and probably not my last....

Great value for the money spent.
Well made and durable.
Nice factory sheath's included.
Easy to sharpen and maintain.
Great warranty.
Great design's.
Made in the USA.
I think you will be pleased with your purchase and if not, they sell quick on the exchange.

Motorcycle accessories> Check!

WTF man!.....GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude - you are going to have so much fun with this forum!

I swear I find it hilarious that someone asks why they should own an ESEE knife and everyone here basically tells them to go buy something else. I love it!

Really though, if they don't know after reading stuff on this forum and lloking at the wbsite, do you really want to bother? If they haven't and just wnat someone to tell them then....ditto.
