I encountered an armed burglar & held him at gunpoint!!! – NOT A JOKE!!!

Well Done!!

Excellent result with you and your whole family safe.
No doubt you have also done the whole neighborhood a favor buy putting the scumbag in jail were he belongs.
I shudder to think what might have happened had he broken into a house with a defenseless teenage girl.

Also well done to your mom and dad. It sounds like great teamwork to resolve a very dangerous situation.:)

Wow Andy, that's quite a story. Glad you were prepared and that everything turned out well.

Glad you're alright man.

Glad things didn't go south, and that what sounds like some good training paid off.

See ya in August.

...

Nice catch, smart play. Glad everything worked out safely for you & the folks! One less out there (and may he receive the maximum sentence under the law)... Thank you. :)

Yeah, I used to didn’t like the idea of a safe, as it would slow down my access to them, and we’re practically always home anyway – at least one of us is. The house is very rarely left unattended. This situation has changed my thinking. It’s not something we can afford right now, but I may at least make them less noticeable and not so much in plain sight.

Sounds like it turned out as well as it could pretty much.:) Good job.
I'd second the idea of a safe for when not at home. When you're at home then you are the theft prevention device. A safe is great for when you aren't there.
Check around and you may find some good deals on gun safes, especially with the amount of gun related items in the States and the economic situation combined. Sometimes I've seen stupid good deals on them here, and we pay far more for firearms and firearm related devices than you guys do.

Sounds like you handled that situation very well. I don't wish that excitement on anybody. Glad your all ok!

As far as your siding....... add a pinch of TSP(trisodium phospate) to the bleach/water bucket. Experiment with the mixtures. Bleach will kill things on the surface but you want to get a tad deeper to kill the offenders.
I've also heard that Simple Green is approved by all siding manufactureres for cleaning siding.
I'd email the manufacturer of your siding and see what they recommend you use.

Glad to hear that someone was actually caught in the act and it turned out ok.

Man - too many times the victims come home to the crime already having been committed and the criminal left the scene, with no suspects being apprehended.

I applaud your calm restraint when the guy wouldn't respond to your requests once you had him at gunpoint. I'm not sure I would have been able to do the same.

Excellent job Andy! Very happy to hear you and family are alright and that slimbag is caught and locked up.

Good work, it's very good to be prepared for the unusual!

Nice job, Andy! I'm glad that you and your family are safe, and that the bad guy got caught in the act.

Good Job. If he has any property (unlikely) sue his butt and take it. At least get yourself a moped.

Good job! You and your family exercised a lot of common sense in handling the situation. And kudos to being prepared when you got back home. Most folks would have said, "yeah, I have two guns and they're in my bedroom!" I'm glad you and your parents didn't get hurt.

What a peice of scum. Glad that guy will get locked up. Very glad to hear you and your family are ok. You hear alot more stories about victims than you do about people who were prepared for the situation. Sounds like you handled it very well, major respect.

I'm happy to read that it worked out. I might have given him a warning shot to his chest with him advancing so much. Good to see an example of responsible gun ownership.

Get-r-done Andy!!! Proud of you dude and glad you and the family are safe and sound.

WELL DONE

Well done!
Such douche bags always come up with amazing stories once they got caught about whay they did what they did. Their invention never cease to amaze me.
Good thing you didn't believe him for a second. My respect to you for being prepared and coldblooded .
