I Give, You Give! Winner Drawn!! See Page 7!!

Nice GAW, Charlie. That soup bone looks great! I’d like to nominate Jolipapa Jolipapa who I believe is more than qualified and deserving of such a nice prize. In addition to being an amiable and generous member, Alain provides a lot of interesting information in areas that many of us don’t have as much experience with, such as French and Hungarian cutlery.

Here’s a Hungarian Fejesgörbe, made by László Papp in Debrecen, that showed up in my mailbox by surprise last year, courtesy of Alain.

I’d like to nominate Nature Boy Nature Boy . He’s always been a pleasure to talk with and he’s helped me get a few knives that were hard to get, my brother appreciates your help as well on that! I live in the town he grew up in and see his cousins frequently as I live right around the corner from his grandma’s house. (Mike and I have never even met in person lol). It’s been beautiful weather here lately so maybe that will bring a little luck 👍🏻.

Woooooooooo!

Great GAW, Charlie; thanks for your generosity!:cool::thumbsup:

I could enthusiastically support almost all of the nominations already made, but I'm going to add another name to the mix.
I'll nominate paulhilborn paulhilborn .
Paul's generosity on The Porch is legendary, his knife knowledge is encyclopedic, and his personality makes him one of the "glue guys" that helps hold this place together and makes it such an enjoyable place to hang out!

I'll nominate 5K Qs 5K Qs . He is worthy of a good Barlow to pair with one (or more) of his canoes. 🤔
Thanks for the nomination, Steve. :) Good to see that you're getting plenty of support!:thumbsup:
(I finally got one of those Chinese 858OT Lumberjacks, with sawcut bone covers. Nice to have a stockman that even YOU doesn't think is too small! 🤓:cool:)

What a great giveaway Charlie! Man that’s a sweet knife. Soup bone is a grail for everyone! I’m gonna be nominating sbh06 sbh06 ! He recently gifted me some amazing, hand made pocket sheaths and I know he’s hooked up other meme bees here were the same generosity! Good luck Jeremy!
Thanks Taylor, I’d be honored to have it, but there are many other members that are more deserving of it than me. Like many others, I’d like for JohnDF JohnDF to be my nominee. He has done so much for others on the Porch with his generosity, several recognized publicly, and I’m sure even more that were kept private. When I started my journey with leather work, John offered nothing but encouragement, tips, and recommendations. Thanks John, you truly are a gentlemen of the forum.

Thanks Charlie, I’ve been absent from this forum(traditionals) for a while because I’ve just kind of fell out of love with them, especially because GECs are so hard to get now. But I would love to nominate Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery because he got me back into picking up my last couple of traditionals, and because he is just all around a great person and a great friend. Plus he crafts some very nice sheaths for us for our cherished traditional knives!

Charlie, this is wonderful and so typical of your generosity. There are so many fine folks who are deserving. I’d like to add a hand for Peregrin Peregrin for moderating so well—especially during the Forum Knife discussions, which often show off the worst of our nature (and the best, it must be admitted).

waynorth waynorth , what a generous giveaway you have proposed! My nomination is Âchillepattada Âchillepattada - our resident authority on Italian knives. Along with vast knowledge that he willingly shares, he also helps facilitate knife transactions with those of us who have no connections with Sardinian master blade smiths, and makes suggestions to those, like myself, who would otherwise buy laughable tourist knives!

My runner up choices are Jolipapa Jolipapa - Our resident French knife expert / facilitator and Will Power Will Power - whom I consider a valuable friend here, with his keen insights, not to mention I feel bad that he has to pay enormous duties on his GEC's.

Good luck to all!

True. The 858 is just about the perfect size. Not too small or "too big" (or too heavy) for the bottom of a jeans pocket, and big enough for a full grip.
How do you like your 858OTB? The "saw cuts" on mine are not as "crisp" as on the (new fine or old coarse) saw cut Delrin, but is a good user.

I'm not sure I am worthy/deserving of the nominations, but I do appreciate them.
