I got off my butt and wrote a book!

Based on this thread, I purchased and read the book and I can tell you, it is non-stop action from the first page. But it is not just a diary of violent acts, although that aspect is certainly not neglected, but additionally the main character displays an introspection you rarely find in this kind of novel. And by "kind of novel" I would compare it to American Psycho (but without the Italian wardrobe and Upper Eastside apartment).

You may find the hero sympathetic or you may find him despicable depending upon your own sensibilities, but you will find him mesmerizing. And knife-lovers need not be concerned: the blade plays a prominent role in this death-dealing vigilante's weaponry.

I hope the sequel finds him traveling to England: there are plenty of scumbags in London that could use some sharp-edged justice.

Thanks.:)
I finally got a copy of the paper-back in my hands today, and it's looking good (still waiting on the hardcover to arrive). It makes it feel so much more real to actually hold it in one's hand.
It certainly looks better than the Kindle rendition. The Kindle version is worth the money, but I think the hard-copy is worth the extra cash...plus, there's something about the experience of reading an actual book which the Kindle just cannot fully replicate.
Of course, in true Bladeforums fashion, I advise buying both!:D

BIG congrats! Always heartening to see another fellow writer achieve a milestone (more of a features/article guy myself).

Cool I bought the kindle one will let you know what I think.

Congratulations, that is an excellent achievement. It does indeed require praise, simply because it requires a lot of time, energy, and dedication to complete any written work. Convert that into a screenplay. ;)

I haven't been able to see the full Kindle version, as it won't let me buy from Canada. I'll be interested to get feedback on how it reads (I've only seen the "look inside" feature).

I've had thoughts along those lines.:)

My first thought after reading it was a TV series like The Arrow (it is on CW channel and is a super hero vigilante type, filmed in Canada), but for Showtime or HBO because of the violence and language. Right up their alley. The episodic nature of the book would work as a series, IMO.

That's a good point.:)

That is awesome sir!

I have written a few short stories, and submitted one to Asimov's Science Fiction magazine this morning. Planning to begin a novel sometime soon... maybe today. Not sure. :D

Congratulations.

Excellent Stabman, well done. I've only read the passages on Amazon, but they read extremely well, and I'll definitely be buying a copy. Think this would make a great comic book too.

Stab did you really write this book or did you outsource it to India ;)
