I had a great day on the water, guess how many fish I caught GAW

Not an entry. Just wanted to post a fish picture. My nephew caught these two at spot that we don't share with many people.
Nice idea for a GAW!

This is a chilling read...although dated.
There are still plenty of places ..anywhere in Sydney Harbour or The Georges River (Sydney) where only a lunatic would swim in the open water....plus a bonus ....I just noticed the beach in this cover pic is North Wollongong ...much changed now with taller buildings but I swam there many times....

I don't think I've ventured into water greater than knee-deep since 1975. [Jaws!]

I’ve been lurking in the traditionals forum for a while now. “Liking” things here and there. Not posting too much because you all know so so SO much more than I do about traditionals. And I dont know exactly what constitutes as a traditional knife yet. So far, very much enjoying my time here. Thanks to all.

This is not an entry, but darn it, I just want to know how many fish you caught already!! Haha. My guess is “enough to make you happy.” :)
Happy Mother’s Day.

This was a great pic from a stocked bass pond at my brothers work.

But what about Trout for breakfast/lunch/supper that day?
I always fished for the eating of. None of the species I've caught over the years are endangered or extinct because I ate em, instead of lettum go.
To each his own as they say. But for me the fun of fishing is the catching and the more I catch the better. Anything I can do to help me catch more is a plus and that means catch & release (unless of course they are injured). I view it as sharing and preserving a resource. We all have our little "outdoor quirks and preferences".... some believe leaving some wood ashes at a camp site is a crime or cutting a small tree down is a problem.... not me. But like everything else, you have to pay attention and respect others. A cigarette butt or three is not a problem, but if a 1000 people leave butts in the same place, it's a problem.

Butts belong in a ziplock or the firepit. :) my opinion.

And just another fishie photo to keep it “reel” up in here. :D Great thread, and excellent GAW. Still not an entry.

Well folks, I cannot tell a lie, I really thought more people would take a guess at this number but I caught absolutely nothing. I had two hits the entire morning and that was it. I struck out big time. Unfortunately I think the bass have started to overtake that lake and the Kokanee population has really dwindled the last few years. When I get off the water today, I’ll go back through and see if there was more than one person that guessed zero. If not, at least somebody caught something for the day:D:D

but there is a silver lining to those of you that actually picked a number more than zero. I might have gone a little overboard picking up some of the Schrade made bison knives and I will throw another one out there for how many fish I catch today. At this point the entries are closed, so I will just go back and look at the numbers people threw up over the last day and a half and that’s who will get the second knife. Same rules apply if there is a tie. Just so everybody knows, today I am on a different lake that I usually do fairly OK on so here’s to a good day on the water and a happy Mother’s Day to all of you.

Dad had one of those from before I was an eye twinkle. My younger brother brought it to school for a private "show and tell" amongst friends, it was such a hit the principle just had to have it for himself. Permanently 8)

Gonna say 2 fish this time around.

A small pike I brought home for a pan fry back In 1981, the year my folks bought me my first Schrade 34OT.
