I used to have more, but sold them all except for a few Grecos,MMHW,Hankins,Siegles and a few from upcoming makers on BF,namely Ray Laconico and Scott Tanguey.I can`t tell you how great it feels to be invested in something other than INFI or knives in general.
Wow! That almost made sense? Does anyone else get this? And how many of these have you actually used?

Very few,I`m a city guy, wish I had more time to spend in the woods.Does the fact that Strider is using stainless steel for prybar knives, charging 400.00 for them and making brisk sales tell you something about the intellegence of an average knife user? How about 1200.00 for a 440A Randall?

Anyone who pays $1200 for a Randall is NOT an average knife user. They are what is known as a Randall collector. BTW.... Randall uses 440B in their stainless knives, Yes, I think they should improve it, but I don't have to buy it, nor do I complain about them. And Busses are still cheaper than regular Randalls. (Hey, there's an idea.... test a Busse and a Randall, and see what you think)

I see a pattern here, first INFI,then SR101 and SR 7something.Why doesn`t Siegle or Ted Frizzell modify 5160 by adding 1/2% of carbon and may be 1% of plutonium and call it M5160?Why only Busse chooses this MO?

Because they can. It's expensive to just call up a company and make your own steel. It costs A LOT unless you buy it in bulk, and Busse has the resources that other companies do not. Jerry didn't always use INFI. He started by making knives with D2, A2, and ATS34.

Cold Steel has Carbon V or whatever.

They are a high volume production company.

Is it wrong for Busse to do it better?

Some makers told me it`s cost-prohibitive to make your own steel.Spyderco is doing very well and I love their knives and constant innovation, why aren`t they cooking up their own steel? They could certainly afford many things that an average knifemaker couldn`t.What I meant was maybe INFI is,how should I put it,NOT a custom made...steel...?

They say it`s either 1095 or O1,whichever thay have at the moment.Search for a 5/16 Recon Scout broken in half at the handle by batoning.

It's Very Bad Manners to keep changing the subject!
I'm done with you. I feel like I'm talking to a hyperactive squirrel.
(It looks like you already know the answer to your own questions, but can't face the questions that given to you.)

Would you feel comfortable in a hypotetical knife world where everyone is using "proprietory" steels and claiming unreal performance,no longer any 5160,1095,440 etc?Does the expression "snake oil" ring any bells? No more aspirine, morphine, penicilline, only herbs from Amazon?

Yes, Cold Steel is an example of how not to make a brand name steel.

Many makers just don't want to bother with special alloys when it can backfire or just suck money so easily.

What difference does it make? It's not like you'd test them yourself anyway.
When you're ready to put your money where your mouth is, then I'll give you an answer.
You are destined to be a skeptic forever! Your loss.

No,it`s my gain.PS>Let Noss do what he loves to do.

Busse performance is real, not unreal, not snake oil.

Busse never claimed their alloy includes steroids.

Their knives have steroids in the same way that Rockstar energy drink makes you a Rockstar.

I think Rockstar energy drink is silly but it will keep you awake which is what energy drinks are for. "Throwing Steroids in the machine" is a silly thing to say but Busse's are still tougher than nails which is the reason we buy Busse's.

It's kind of like Joe Isuzu advertizing but you probably don't know what that is either.

As an ex-weightlifter I know better than most folks what steroids are and IMHO using this "keyword" to push our collective "macho" buttons speaks volumes about the presumed infantile fantasies of the target audience. "Throwing Steroids in the machine" is a silly thing to say,but even sillier thing to read.

Steroids make your nuts shrivel. If that word pushes your "macho" button you have problems.

No dude,it pushes yours and insults me,by even dreaming about pushing mine with using the word that describes pretty much my teen years.
