I just got my SOG Pillar in, and boy am I disappointed. What a letdown.

Only with some people. When it is clear that someone is only here to argue, my advice is to not respond to them no matter how many times they quote you. Unless they are spreading misinformation, no need to respond at all. You could even put them on ignore and they disappear from the forum for you altogether.
Yeah the “run and hide” approach really is best used only when absolutely necessary. No need to run around selecting ignore just because someone disagrees with you on something. Before you know it, you’d have the entire forum on ignore because not everyone agrees on every topic.

Not a single one of us is above reproach or perfect in our knife knowledge. This isn’t a gang wherein we ostracize those a little different or that have interests that differ from ours. Let us be open-minded and respectful in our efforts to inform, rather than alienating people that might be new, lacking knowledge, or a little quirky in their delivery. You’re right, this isn’t Facebook or instagram… so let’s not stoop to that level. we are better than that.
Is too. 🎯

Brother Lasador receives a $200 knife with no edge on it, and a bunch of knuckleheads want to make him the bad guy.
This guy is your brother? Shall we call him Lasador Noodle 🤣

This entire thread could have been avoided if the first reply was a simple

DONT FEED THE TROLL!!!

Oops it did!4705293C-7BC2-4350-A389-BE94453DA836.jpeg

Why is he a troll because he expects a $200 to come to him sharp? I don’t see the “troll” in that. Maybe you can explain it.
It’s been explained more then once in this thread and even more in his last 4-5 threads.
You appear to be rather emotionally invested in the OP, or, and I think this is much more likely, you just enjoy arguing and are having a good time.
Either way I endured about all I care to of your condescending attitude.

Good Bye

I’m flabbergasted that after all of our back and forth you’re still cognitively not able to correlate what’s been said. You have selective blindness, as I have repeated multiple times that the issue is related to OP’s hyperbole in other threads and entirely unrelated to his primary complaint. I’ve also stated on a repeated basis that, if he is either unable or unwilling to sharpen it, HE SHOULD SEND IT BACK TO THE DEALER/MANUFACTURER. For the life of me, I have never come across someone in a forum setting who has been obtuse.

The line is in the damn quote: “What people said is that he should just sharpen the knife, get over it, or send it back because it happens.” Look, there it is again. Scaring sparrows on BFC isn’t going to do anything.

Glad I missed most of this thread...

Murdamook, I basically had the same dialog with him earlier in this thread.

I am pretty sure the person we were arguing with is a teenager with a below average education. That is the best case scenario considering the 31k posts (lol). It would also maybe help explain his inability to form a consistent and valid argument.

Wow, this thread still isn't dead, is it?

That guy probably seriously depends on this stuff... The online presence and the "social" media.

Humans are devolving...

Thank you, my friend. I appreciate your candid and honest assessment of the situation. I find most of the comments on here very amusing, if not helpful. I mean, all this vitriol over an honest remark about a knife I just bought. It seems I've also been assailed for not having pictures of the knife, but I just haven't had the energy to do it after another long day at work. I will try to do it this weekend.

I was really just curious if anyone else had a similar experience with this knife. Being at the price point of $200.00, I was disappointed with a poor edge. I have to admit that the SOG fixed blade knives I've purchased in the past have all had a nice edge, but not this one. Maybe it's just a QC issue. There have been a couple of remarks on here that are interesting, but the rest have left me underwhelmed.

Hang in there, bud. We aren’t all bad.

What did you decide to do with the knife?

Thanks man! To tell you the truth, I've going back and forth on it since I got it. It's really nice, but there is something about spending $200.00 and not getting a nice edge to start with! It's kinda like buying a car that is supposed to be brand new and discovering it's got over a 1,000 miles on it already. Well, same principle, I mean.

I was browsing for some cheap knives some time ago... the guy showed me a fixed knife and said it was a scandi blade with a razor sharp edge... I proceeded to run the entire blade across the soft skin of my forearm. lol not even a mark... Is your blade that dull?

Exactly, just send it back, life’s too short
