Wow, I was wondering what they would do with all of the first production knives. I was hoping for some BH awesomeness, but I can't blame them for doing this either.

Slightly tempted to go with the BK16 saber (I'd be more interested in that one than the FFG version). Sadly, its too rich for my blood. And also, I was getting all excited for the BK17 passaround, as I would have one in my hands long before many others, and could do a great review on it. Now though it looks like people will be getting theirs before the 17 gets here .

This is really cool though. I'm glad they did this.

I'm wondering how many will be users, and how many will be collectibles/safe queens.

anyone else notice the description says flat ground? i actually prefer the saber grind (as pictured) as opposed to the ffg for this knife anyway.

Yeah, I hope SMKW enjoys the first and last time they get to gouge me on shipping. I'm sure they had to pay a premium to KA-BAR, so paying more to a certain degree is understandable.

That's the way I feel about it as well. I don't care to be the first on the block to get something, but it sure is nice to get this offer.
