Hey Thorny. Sorry I didn't answer your text yesterday. Yeah, I got it. Thanks brutha!

Very good genes. Her mom Robyn Erbesfield and her dad Didier Raboutou were both top climbers in their day!

This is one of the many things that speaks to me of genetic memory. I personally believe that what many people believe is past life regression memories and things of that nature, are actually memories in our RNA and DNA from our ancestors and relatives.
Memories passed in their material that was used to create us. There have been studies that show that older couples having kids have a higher risk of those kids struggling with schizophrenia. In my opinion this is because those genetic memories passed on directly from the parent are so recent and numerous. Longer life before having kids means more to pass on right ?

You have to wonder how and why some prodigies are born with what appears to be decades of training and experience is some things, or an ability to play a song they have never heard, perfectly. To me its just more argument for my theory.

I hate opening the store on sunday! I'm sitting here watching our butchers cut up chicken, like I've been doing for 2 hours, and wishing I was still in the bed! Ahhh, at least im kicked back in an office chair lol.

I didnt take it personal I mean we all know your an asshole ;)

I'm sure you meant "legend." For the life of me, I can't figure how people keep confusing these two categories.

next time you really should say hi. I tried fishing a bit but I have next to zero experience fishing in a river. I used a crappie jig on a bobber and got one fish on but lost it. The water was super muddy since the river had went up 5 feet the night before. I would like to learn more about the fishing from a kayak thing this was my second real attempt at fishing out of my boat.

I grew up fishing a river a little less wide than the one you picture. My grandparents had property that bordered the river; by the time I was 14, I was loading up my dad's canoe in his truck, driving to the river every day in the summer, and either float fishing or wade fishing.

In the absence of live bait, I'm a big advocate of matching the bait wherever I fish. Rivers contain tons of small minnows that are 1.5" to 2" long. Probably my favorite lure in this regard is the CD-03 Rapala in silver. A lot of Small Farts carry it, though I've found some only carry the CD-05. Seems to be hit or miss on the 03. Anyway, it's this one: http://www.rapala.com/CountDown/CountDown,default,pd.html

I also like the shorter CD-01 for the little stock trout around here in the winter and the CD-05 for bigger fish. On the 3, however, I catch both small fry and larger stuff, and it keeps the fishing lively and fun. Yesterday, I caught a couple of dreamers not that much bigger than the lure itself. It's a countdown lure that will settle slowly, so you don't want to just let it lay. Once it hits the water, a steady slow retrieve is all it takes. I usually cast up to banks, and pretty often fish will follow the thing nearly to the boat.

The other lure I cast a lot on small rivers is a Rooster Tail. I have the best luck with silver or with white and red. Purple would probably work too, but I believe part of good fishing is about having confidence in your lure.

My favorite set-up is a short graphite rod (5' to 5'6"), spinning reel that handles 4-8 lb. test, and I usually use 6 lb. test. Unless you hook into a giant catfish or bass and get spooled, this rig will handle most everything, and the lightweight nature makes casting smaller lures easy and gives the fishing some sport. The short rod is also less likely to get fouled in overhanging branches.

I've set up my 'yaks to have a rod holder, which really helps when you need both hands to paddle without catching a treble hook in the hand or leg. I'm a fan of this particular RAM version (see below). I think it's the 2007 Ram rod holder. You just mount the ball on your yak, and you can adjust the holder four ways to Sunday.

I have that same lure and the similar one that breaks in the middle too. Caught a bucket load of fish on them..

thanks again to Derek, Todd, and and Sagewood leatherworks

Here's the only keeper we put in the boat yesterday.
My buddy caught it. Hid step dad is a part time guide on the columbia.
He's been cleaning sturgeon with a USMC Ka-bar for years. I thought that was cool.
Overall, it was a very fun day on the river.

Just bought a green T.M. Hunt Magua for Christine. She does not know. Extra points for me!

Cooking down the hot dog chili, slaw is done, firing the grill coals as I type. Sam Adams Summer Ale, Ka-Bar Brown, or Yuengling? Life is damn hard with these kinds of choices. ;)

You're a strong man G! I'm sure you'll make the right choice!:D

the only real choice is which one first!
