WorldWood is a hell of a guy, I bought a couple knives off him and he threw in a lifetime supply of plastic shopping bags!

thanks man :p

Lmao, OK great im guessing you got it then :)

That's my packing technique lmao my part in recycling hahaha

OK, so I found what you were talking about. It's called Rustoleum Never Wet and it's a partnership with that company that put the video out where their stuff was applied and absolutely nothing sticks to the surface. So, I went to Home Depot and found where they have it...all out. They said it sold FAST. I might try Farm & Fleet and Walmart later today to see if I can find some. It's a 2 step spray system and I'm thinking it will be awesome for tarps, rainflys, and tents. I might even hit my hunting and hiking boots with it.
Yeah, that ish! I have been thinking about going ahead and putting in a backorder if I can just to have some to try. From what I've seen this is the new "miracle" stuff.

Picked this one up yesterday. Of course you know, "dark earth" is the "in" color for summer. OD is so last month. I'm thinking of having Under Armour make me some shoes to match.
Because of work, "dark earth" doesn't really work for me. Everything is pretty much black. And while black may be "slimming" after a while it does get kind of boring. But for a work bag, which this is for me, I'm sticking to black. I wouldn't have minded getting my BPP in OD or even "dark earth" but I got a hell of a deal on it so black it was.

Nice score tw.

Had a storm roll through about 5:30ish this morning. Power was out, no biggie. Around 9, I took a rather large branch that was in the front yard to the back, to discover that the wire going from the pole to the house was down. Power was just now restored.
We caught the tail end of that down here too. We heard about 4 thunders and then it was gone. It was nothing really down here. Although all the trails around here are DRENCHED to the point of being impassable.

Cruising into the home stretch. Just cranked out a roughly 1500-mile road trip with one murse and two rambunctious children, one of them gassy. It was survival at its finest! Let's see Bear what's-his-name top that. Dude would have been in a fetal position before he hit Virginia.

We visited Charlottesville, Monticello, Jamestown, colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and Asheville. And Lord knows how many restrooms in between.
Mine is for work, which means it has already been in and out of 6 different ERs, 2 different surgery centers and in the court house. I've only had it a week. It's been with me for 500 miles.

Speaking of knives (since that's why were here) did you ever get a chance to play with those saw blade knives?

I have. Very good cutters and slicers. Pretty tough steel too, holds an edge. My one suggestion would be to cut out the blanks so the saw teeth cut on the pull stroke. Would be a lightweight handy piece of kit then.

Ax versus knife... I'd bet it would outchop the 9. However that is like saying "I bet dropping a nuke on Afghanistan would end the war quicker than sending in My Little Ponies"...

I should have included the [sarcasm][/sarcasm] brackets...

the main point was that the ax design is pretty unique and seems to work pretty well.

How does the egg do for those, DJ? I've been contemplating getting one for a while, even though my WSM does a grea job. More rack space never hurt!

For me personally its kind of hard to keep the temp lower than about 350 degrees which could be a good or bad thing depending on what your doing. I like to cook the brisket at around 315-325 so I just open the lid every once in a while. I do like the grill itself though. I don't think I'll be able to make any brisket today though:grumpy:

Yeah, at high-heat your brisket should take about 4-5 hours. If I have shortened time, I'll smoke at 350-375 for 2-2.45 hours, then wrap it in foil and keep it on the smoker or in the oven at the same temp for another 2.5 hours. Then, you MUST rest it for a good 30 minutes.

Typically, though, I'll do it at around 225 degrees for 12-14 hours and it slices like butter. Mmmmm...brisket...burnt ends...

I thought about doing it on a gas grill so I could control the heat a little better, but then I quickly snapped out of it. Ill also try to not use as much charcoal tomorrow in hopes that it won't burn as hot. I'm also curious, what do you usually season yours with?

I usually go pretty simple. I mix up some Kosher salt, cracked black pepper, cumin, dry mustard, brown sugar, cayenne pepper / chili powder, fresh garlic, and onion powder.

If you can find some Dillo Dust, it's actually pretty similar and I find it to be awesome for brisket. The McCormick BBQ Rubs work well, too.

$250 and change for a wood splitter?
gleep!

OTOH, UTG murse is good -- mine's about 4 years old and going strong.
Maratac (county comm) makes a decent bigger bag as well -- pretty much the same thing as the LAPG "Jumbo BOB".

When my check processes through tomorrow I am gonna order the bag, and the rustoleum. Next "big" purchase after that, is a tarp. I'm thinking a large one that I can sew onto my hammock. I have a drawing done up so it makes sense and I don't COMPLETELY eff it up.

keep the tarp separate -- it's more useful and less likely to leak.
etowah 10x12 is a good one - made in the US and pretty decent price.

Well, I was thinking for my green hammock, the jungle one. There is a lip along the top to channel the rain. I was thinking I'd sew the tarp to the lip, then coat the whole thing with the Rustoleum NeverWet. I've got a few friends that have tried it now, and they all have good results.

I might need that. A guy down the street had a few big trees fall over and let us take the wood away. It's mostly pine and maple but the logs average about a foot thick boy 5-6 feet long. About twice as much as pictured below.
