Waiting for one of my co workers to come back with buffalo chicken pizza.
That doesn't even sound good... I've seen/heard of those and they just... no. Pizza is supposed to be fresh mozzarella, fresh crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, on a thin crust made of semolina, wheat, water, and some corn meal on bottom.

I'd actually drive that.

Ohhhhhh Cbear don't make us fight like coach Ditka over polish sausages about Chicago style versus New York style.

WHOA! I wasn't bringing up the New York/Chicago thing... I bypassed all that and went straight for the Margherita pizza. Granted I do love both Chicago AND New York style, but BOTH pale in comparison to the original sicilian style!

HAHA, I can't stand classic Sicillian Pizza, too boring for me.
And good, I thought I was going to have to give you a learning on daaaaa Pizza.

A well done classic Sicilian pizza is NOT boring, it's an experience. The first time you take that bite and the flavors all come together in your mouth the garlic, the tomato, the basil, the cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, the fresh mozzarella cooked in a 900° brick oven with hickory wood... It's orgasmic I swear!

Oh, and you're talking to a Chicago native who grew up going to New York for the summers every year for 12 years... Pizza is something I know.

A flavorful experience is a Teddy Roosevelt Pizza.

NICE! I love little mom and pop shops! The ones that have been around for a LONG time are the ones that are the best! You know they are good cause they been around for 30+ years!

EXACTLY, just like burger joints or breakfast shops. Mom and pop's are always the best.

That's one of the many things I like about Vermont. All these mom and pop shops are along the roads in these little towns, in the valleys. Go in, grab a fresh sandwich from the deli, and go out on the front porch of the store and eat. Love that kind of stuff.

Up in Wood River, Illinois there is this little steak house place that has been around since the mid.... 80's maybe earlier. They do a FANTASTIC steak peppercorn encrusted just yumminess! I don't think the place has EVER been renovated, and I don't think the recipe has either. It's awesome!

Damn you! I could go for a nice sammich right now.

I too love little mom and pop/hole in the wall food joints... the only bad thing is it seems where I come from they dont do very well. When they first open up they are like the greatest thing since sliced bread but soon after everyone decides they would rather just go to the same old places they have been going too for forever to eat the same old things. For instance they would rather go get a plain jane burger from micky dees than pay a little more for a hand crafted, made to order, and amazing burger from the little mom and pop shop. Purty sad, but it seems the small town mentality is consistently reluctant to any sort of change even if it is good...

There's a place right off base here called Sunshine, family run for 25 years and I get lunch there all the time.
Extremely nice people and good hometasting food.

Lol. Pizza. Reminds me of the rant John Stuart went on. That was some funny stuff. I'm not particularly fond of pizza, likely because I'm lactose intolerant, and really regret it afterwards every time.

I remember stopping in a little town, called Weston, VT. There's a little store there called the Weston Village Store. Huge sandwiches for just a few bucks. It was great. It's right across the street from the Vermont Country Store. You may have seen their catalogs before. Paste these coordinates in the "fly to" box on Google Earth, and it will put you right on the store's roof: 43°17'27.52" N 72°47'35.37" W

Not very far, I bet ;)

A friend of my Dad's once won an engineering trophy at Iola for squeezing a 428 Cobra Jet into the backseat of an early 70's Mach I. It was basically useless on the 1/4 mile though, since A) it wanted to stand straight up nose-in-the-air as soon as he hammered the throttle, and B) since he didn't have posi or wheelies bars on it, he dang near twisted the frame like a pretzel. According to him, driving 350+ horsepower on one wheel without being able to see where you were going, much less steer, was not as much fun as it sounds.

Also, going for a ride around town in it (I only had the guts to try it once) made you seriously feel like you were about to get sucked into the carb while going completely deaf... sort of like perching on the front end of a jet engine. It sure looked cool, though :D
