Thank you all for sharing your criticism so far, however if you fail to notice,I didn't address those who doesn't like DUK, but those who like these blades and willing to share positive thoughts and also some photos, simple. It shall be common to read the thread, before reply.
I don't get it. Almost $200 for a 440C blade made in China?
For that price, I can get similar blades with better steel made by the custom guys here on the forum. If I wanted to drop that coin I could also be looking at Bark River, and similar very high quality makers all done domestically with top notch QC and warrantee. Is there a draw to these "Down Under" knives that I'm not aware of?
We call that sticking your head in the sand.

Craytab, most of the USA production knifes are made in Asia.... Cold Steel, SOG,etc.Australia is next door to Asia, I don't see how quality can be even possibly affected by country of origin....quality depends on how tight is QC Quality Control.I don't know anything about ban on discussions about non-bladeforum members, such as this company. each model of their knives they ever produced was up to date astonishing piece of art apart of troubled sheaths on The Outback. I just wanted fans of this mark to share their enjoyment from Down Under products, that's all
Craytab - this is very common practice-! Nearly every company is praising themselves and their products and pissing on all competition in every possible way....capitalism is defined and based on false advertisement and disinformations.
"each model of their knives they ever produced was up to date astonishing piece of art" - Okaaay......!
From what I read both here and else where, QC is lacking.
Besides, if one perceives these knives as being ''astonishing art," one needs to get out more. Its an affront in regards to 99% of the knives in the custom forum here.
....,guys who used and abused for example The Outback claim the knife is able to withstand extremely hard use, without dulling edge.
If it's very common...tell us 3 companies in the knife industry that do it. Please cite examples and proof that each involves falsehoods.
Otherwise, again, you are just making stuff up.
A lot of experienced knifemakers have very positive opinions on 440C and would also say-its not only about grade of steel, but it's about heat treatment what plays key role on final edge and quality...
Chinese made garbage by way of unscrupulous folks in Finland. Unlicensed copies of John Bowring's work. Undeniable high quality you say? Prove it. Please cite some sources. I'd rather knapp a petrified dinosaur turd.

Seriously, I love 440c, but....
For a Chinese production knife in 440c I would go with one of the many Boker options out there for half price, like the Hunter Killer, a great knife for under $100; and trust they'd have comparable if not better fit and finish...
For a production knife in about the same high end price range as a Down Under, I would take a Puma (made in Spain), or an Anglesey or an EnTrek (both made in USA), or a Boker Vollintegral (made in Germany)...
So basically, with all the "other" options available, if I want a 440c knife, $150+ chinese priduction "Down Under Knives" doesn't even make a blip on my radar, not even a little bit...
I think Boker is also making excellent knives for the price,-Arbolito El Gigante with stag handle, large Bowie beautifully crafted with leather sheath, just under 150 bucks, smaller blades under 100 but very solid looking and with functional designs.....I think that's a great choice too.
Many claims here DUK is not genuine business because they do not reveal country of their factory.... I can only disagree with this nonsense. Its up to them entirely to reveal any information about their factory/factories etc.(yet most of guys here know where their factory is located - claiming ChinaHow contradicting is this!?
give me a proof it's made in China ....Cold Steel for instance, famous USA company making their knives in Thaiwan.....and have a lot of fans on bladeforums.(don't get me wrong I like many of their stuff and think some of it is very competitive and good, solid quality).I think the real issue/criticism of most US based guys here is one and simple.Once company (in this case DUK) it's not USA owned company-its Chinese garbage,,,,once it's under ownership of US and made in very same Asian country: it's still "American" quality LOL,LOL,LOL
Important is product and it's quality, not where it's made.Comments like these makes me laugh and only revealing little or rather no knowledge and how close minded these guys are....
So what you are saying is that this is the product of Chinese Capitalism? Well, lets hope it stays there.
