I love Down Under Knives

This guy obviously beat the crap out of it and listen his words about knife - that's a statement that only adding to my opinion that quality of their heat treatment is excellent and blade is tough as blade can be.!!! He also revealed weak point of knife and that is clear and visible from DUK picture itself: mounting of pommel.... I think DUK should do this product easily without silly flaw like this and shall do full flat or just same thickness of tang all the way to the pommel mounting in my opinion.... great video, this guy explained it pure and simply - worth to watch, he nailed it.

No, he did not beat it hard. He meant that he is likely the only one who has actually used his knife. But make no mistake, he did not abuse that knife. He has a bunch of videos of him just doing what people do with a big knife.

Show me a bunch of reviews of DUK. Hell, show me your DUK knives that you own? You speak highly of them, but seem to have no first hand experience. I will admit, I like the style of that one blade, but that terrible square transition kills it for me.

Any fans of this great looking line of beautiful and undeniable high quality knives? Please share your thoughts and photos if possible!

Unquestionably high quality is an interesting descriptor. I actually typically reserve it for knives or companies that I don't care for but cannot, in all honesty, cast any aspersions upon the actual quality of the product. Down Under isn't that.

And the price. My goodness. I paid not much more recently for a SR101 TGLB, new, from a reputable company, made here in the US, and with a flawless warranty. Hell, the Junglas will outperform one of these knives all day long and cost less.

Ding ding, winner. Heck, would you even consider that thing over a Becker BK9? no way.

You can post all the youidiot videos you want. I won't be watching them. Do you own any of the knives being talked about? Specifically your beloved DUKs? You are here defending a crap company with crap arguments. Just like the last shill thread you made about DUK, this one is only hurting your company's reputation. Fine by me.

I like the cut of your jib,,, you ask what everyone thinks about these knives,, then when they tell you their opinion,, you tell them they're wrong.
Logic

For all critics:

They designed the knife badly. Period. You admit it, he admits it. What do you think the point is of a large knife if not chopping like the Australian guy? Besides, the guy was more Australian than the knife, so that guy has more right to talk about crocodile dundee than the knifemakers!

Further, the video of the guy who "nailed it" seems to mostly fondle the knife, not use it. He talks about "abusing" the knife, but also says he wants to be able to throw away a knife when it fails. Finally, he seems to talk about using a knife for slicing, not chopping- which begs the question, why does he need such large knives then?

Oh, and he seems to be ok dropping $100 for a knife, but says 420j2 steel is a good steel if heat treated; and doesn't seem to know or talk much about purpose driven design.

Zero

I think, there is quite a lot of DUK knife reviews on youtube in variety of languages from many countries and nearly all of them are very positive, speaking highly of these knives.

Besides,,,,,despite what you guys claiming:If you were right with your claims here, than DUK-THE OUTBACK BOWIE WOULDNT BE PRESENTED ON FRONT COVERS OF BEST BLADE MAGAZINES ARROUND THE GLOBE IN NUMBER OF COUNTRIES.

That transition to pommel should be made better, however i think it's a very minor flaw and still extremly durable and tough hell of a knife. Going to get this one, because I believe it's well worth it and sure bet.....will let you know than man."That's not a knife! - THIS IS A KNIFE":):):):):) glad that somebody brought this inspirational knife legend to life.

I like also Busse as you made purchase of Team Gemini in Sr101, but this one cost over 300 bucks (over my budget now) ...if Busse, than Battle Mistress in INFI (when I win lottery hopefully :))

I won't get involved any further with any insulting comments- yours included.

I am fan of knives, not companies, neither countries.I like variety of large fixed blades from many producers,or knifemakers from around the globe...There are knives and steels that I like and that I don't.... if you have problem with that, than its your own burden, not mine.I am able to discuss without insulting you or anybody else, there is a difference between us.....

Heeeeey man, could you help me out and post up links to independent BEST BLADE MAGAZINES? Thanks, bro. I super appreciate it. I'm not interested in clicking on your company's page.

Can we ban this shill/moron now? I'm betting he works for the company or works for a store/site that sells this brand. He's a little to defensive about DUKs business practices and marketing to just be a casual fan of the company. We should hook up Seriousbladeno1 with licken dula they seem made for each other.

I don't get it. Almost $200 for a 440C blade made in China?

For that price, I can get similar blades with better steel made by the custom guys here on the forum. If I wanted to drop that coin I could also be looking at Bark River, and similar very high quality makers all done domestically with top notch QC and warrantee. Is there a draw to these "Down Under" knives that I'm not aware of?

Amazing. If you know custom knifemakers, who will make equal size custom Bowie knife below 200 $ price tag and made of higher grade steel and better quality: please share links to them!

Is that from older models before INFI or ? I didn't know there were any TGLB with SR101. Wouldn't mind finding one..

I would appreciate if mod will ban you for insulting me,calling me names and accusing me of being shill.

Well, mate, being passionate of certain knife, doesn't make you being owner of factory it comes from, neither it's merchant.I like a lot of knives, that would be a lot of income for me,owning all them businesses or being paid for it from each company, for few threads :):):):):) I guess half of the bladeforums members would be very rich allready.
