I may have a problem. :(

Only problem i see with it is the weight! I carry a spyderco ladybug, beer scout and AAA flashlight daily and occasionally leave the beer scout home to save weight/room

I am up and down all day so its more of a bulk thing as i do not want all things in my pocket digging into me as i squat or kneel and for my cutting tasks (a lot) the ladybug works perfectly

If i wore jeans or simliar heavier pants and didnt squat and kneel all day id definitely carry bigger and more

How much does all that weigh BTW?

I am also guilty of this, I see no problem in that. I am used to carrying 3 knives on a daily basis, but the number of blades can shoot up quickly: my usual EDC is
1 OHO Folder or Fixed blade (1 blade)
1 Multitool (usually 2 blades)
1 SAK or Traditional (usually 2 blades)
1 keychain SAK (usually 2 blades)
And sometimes I add a small neck knife or coin pocket knife/mini multitool (usually 1 blade)

so it's usually 7-8 blades on me all day, and I have gotten used to it quickly.
If one of the is heavy or big, then the other(s) are often smaller, etc. I change some of them during the week depending on what I plan to do

I see traditional, lockback, fixed blade, tactical........................looks like you have most of your bases covered! Might need to add a victorinox classic on the keychain.

Well, he did say he had a vic minichamp on his keys earlier in the thread. Rumor has it that's the SAK the cool knife nuts have on their keys these days.

I'll have to let you know, I've always been curious of that same thing. :)

After reading your NYC story I would like to amend my first statement from:
"To be stone cold honest, yes, carrying that many blades on you for everyday errands/work is excessive."
to
"To be stone cold honest, yes, carrying that many blades on you for everyday errands/works is excessively awesome!"

The statement about the Joker scene in Dark Knight remains though.

It's probably mostly my minor OCD about amount and location of stuffs in my pockets. Imbalance in that system could cause the planet to spin off it's axis and annihilate 37% of the known universe, at a minimum.
After a thorough self-assessment I believe I need to retread step #8 and make amends to my fellow knifeguy whom I may have wronged in my first post on the forum! I realized that 85% of the time I have my briefcase/bag on me and 90-95% of the time I am in my own vehicle, primarily for business. In that bag is a minimum of two flippers, two 6" DMT diamonds, one small Arkansas finishing type stone, oil/grease, mini-torx driver set, some form of strop and small non-slip pad (to put the stones on), small brush & microfiber cloth; that does not include anything I may put in there temporarily for some reason or another. Then in the car at all times is a folder, larger fixed blade, another smaller folder, leatherman, a two sided interrupted diamond plate and some sort of leather for stropping.

I sharpen my friends/associates blades whenever I see them, my wife says I'm obsessed but at least it's better than using substance.

Houston, I think I may have a problem, so I'm going to get a cup of coffee and pull up a chair at the meeting.

I see no problem, as long as your pants stay up. :D

I carry a multiple knives in my pockets, on my belt and in my vehicle.

My DAILY KNIFE EDC (as opposed to a rotating EDC) is::
- a 1950s Kabar rigging knife in my LFP, along with my phone
- a Buck 501 in my RFP, along with my keys
- a Pro-Tech TR4 clipped to my RFP,
- a BK11 in my LRP
- a Kabar 1255 on my belt at 8 o'clock
- a Kabar 1257 on my belt at 4 o'clock

I also carry a challenge coin, WW2 ARP whistle and a thumb-drive in the watch pocket of my pants.

Every vehicle I drive also has both emergency and bailout bags (yes - 2 separate bags) which include the following cutting instruments::

-a BK2
-a BK3
-a BK9
- backup Buck 424s/484s
- an icepick
- an Ontario machete
- 14" bolt cutters
- hack saw
- an Estwing E25 camp axe
- an Estwing EBDBA double bit axe
- a sharpening kit - 3-n-1 oil, oil stone, fine and coarse files, honing puck
- a 30" crowbar
- aluminum baseball bat (Little League length)

And the truck also has::
- a bow saw
- 8 lb sledge
- an Estwing E45A long handle camp axe
- a second Ontario machete

So, No, Ted. I don't think you're crazy. However, you do need to add a second fixed blade to the pack - everyone needs at least 2.:D
