I make, sell and use my knives. A couple of pics of my knives in use. I love it when my knives are the sharpest and hold an edge longer than any of the others. Sharp counts when skinning and quartering.

That's because expensive is different for everyone.

I like to use my knives, doesn't matter which or how much they cost. I only buy knives that I feel will be useful somehow. No swords, no daggers, for instance. And I have witnesses, too

And I don't mind if they show use, even the expensive ones, as long as I caused the marks.

Now, to be honest, if I only bought knives that I needed, it would be less than 10 or so, 5 of them in the kitchen.

Funny though - I was part of a camera forum for years .... the same argument is made there, users vs. safe queens, people making fun of others for "only" taking pretty pictures of cameras instead of using them, etc. It's another form of virtue signaling, IMO.

Nobody's business how much I use my knives. You do you, I do mine.

Plus, they are cheaper than guns, motorcycles, cars, boats and girl friends, in that order.

As much as I want to participate in this thread right now (cause it’s hilarious), I have paperwork to do.

I have learned in my time here at BF that knives dull just sitting around.

I buy every knife with the intention of using it…and eventually sharpening it.

However….

I have too many knives, and when push comes to shove, and I’m in a hurry out the door, the tried and true knives are the ones I grab.

My safe is full of good intentions.

Will I open mail…yes.
Cut boxes up…yes.
Food prep?…yes.
Trim a branch, carve some wood, cut some rope?….Absolutely.




Dig a hole/pry rocks/car doors?..Absolutely NOT!

It’s a knife, not a prybar or shovel. Most of my knives have minor scratches that I try my hardest not to capture in my photos. Haha.

So much for not participating due to paperwork…gotta go. Gotta sharpen some kni…er…do paperwork.
