Who said any of this needs to make sense

.
Everyone appreciates knives in their own way, and although I don't share everyone's form of appreciation, I don't judge them or think less of them if their methods are different than mine. After all, it's just knives we're talking about.
I agree with the sentiment "to each their own", but at the same time there's no reason we can't poke a little fun (including at ourselves). Like I said, it's just knives we're talking about. I'm sure that not everyone shares all of my forms of knife appreciation.
I think if you take a hard look at just about any "hobby" you'll find reasons to think that it doesn't make any sense. Or that some of the people involved in that hobby are downright crazy. What is a hobby after all, just something we do to amuse ourselves and pass the time when we don't have to be working for a living.
As far as people posting knife pics on social media, I think anything that keeps the interest in knives going among younger generations and helps to make knives more "normal" and socially acceptable is a good thing. I don't do social media, but I don't think less of those who use it to show off their pretty knives. More power to them I say. Keep spreading the word that knives are good.
I have hardly any need for knives these days, but I still like to post pictures of my knives on various knife forums, including knives I have never used, and will never use. Does that make me deserving of derision and ridicule?
My general advice to people in the knife community is- don't take it all so seriously. It's just
knives. If the things other people do with THEIR knives actually upsets you or causes you to look down on them, then I'd say YOUR the one with the problem, not them. (this was not directed at you Kettleman, I understand "tongue in cheek"

)
And by the way Kettleman, you paid to be a member of a knife forum, and you have over 4600 posts in just 14 months. I hate to break it to you, but you're already
infected. One of us. One of us. One of us.
