Well, I didn't get it that precise. No theodolite, but I did tape a level to a 2x4 and got it close as I could. We got decent soaking rain today, so I think I'll have to wait for the ground to dry a tad before I go polish it off. Why the need for such precision? Proper water drainage?
I was just bustin' on ya. It's hard to make dirt precise. I sensed you might be susceptible to a little ribbing in that regard, being a self professed gardening noob. I have some AR tendencies myself, but thankfully not when it comes to gardening. Or much of anything else. Just certain aspects of work, and proper loading of the dishwasher, which no one can ever seem to do correctly. Bowls facing every which way. A man could go insane.

On another note, enjoying a Shipyard Brewing Co. Black IPA. One of the best twist-off cap beers I've ever had, I think.

Getting freezing rain right now. For once, I'm hoping for little precipitation tonight. We may be in a drought and need moisture, but I'll take a pass on ice all over everything. We also have a potential power shortage situation until 9 a.m. due to an anticipated huge demand due to the cold (and downed lines due to icing)

We are being advised to lower our thermostats to less than 68F. HHHMMM. I thought 68 or lower was what we were supposed to be keeping them at anyway??

Finally got my grinder unboxed and put together. First time posting cell phone pics, too, as this is the first time I've had a personal phone. Got tired of only having the free but somewhat crappy flip phone from work. Plus the fact that they own it, and the whole big brother thing.

Man I really have been slow tonight :D

Hmmmm....looks a little lopsided. Want to borrow my astrolabe and get that sucker leveled off?

2"x42" craftsman? Very nice.
Thank you. I'm kind of jonesing to actually do something with it. Grind some sh...tuff. Of course, when I had all that time at home, I wasn't sposedta do anything strenuous, and now that I'm feeling better, I'm back at work....left at 7 am, got home at 20:15. There should really be some setting that's in between on the work/life controller knob.

But, more money for this:

Bed soon......

Well, if you can't use it, I'll take it off your hands. I've got some projects that I need a grinder for!

You didn't take into account parallax or the Coriolis effect. Plus there's a little quantum tunneling in the flux capacitors on my megapixel, charge-coupled, optical analog to digital converter. Don't forget the inevitable micro-bit degradation of HTTP and chroma display distortion. In reality, it is dead nuts level and square to within 2 or 3 angstroms. I kid you not.

Oh, I can use it. It's just taken me a while to get it out of the box. Get your own damn grinder.

Well, yea, duh. That's what I was trying to tell you. Good call for sure. How could ANYONE forget the micro....rotary...girder...specto jigameters? Sheesh.

I've got a HF 1"x30" I need to get some more belts. I'm finally figuring out how to sharpen on a belt grinder, it isn't easy I can tell you that! Especially when it's only vertical. I need to get a better one for sure.

The 1x30 can do quiet a lot, especially when it comes to sharpening.

Damn cool. I'm going to etch my $5 Walmart mugs.

Thanks for the link, I'll bookmark it so I won't forget it when I forget your post.

I know, right? I was in REI this afternoon and saw them.
After the stovegasm tremors settled and my knees stopped shaking, I grabbed one.
Only $9.95. Heck, I pay $5 for the 4 oz. versions.
I'm going to assume this isn't deal spotting since online vendors usually will not ship these things through the mail.
Two good tips from you, you skimped the good learning from the kids to pass it on to us didn't you?

In other news..... Stupid zip ties all over retail packages.

:D It's a shame they didn't see it coming though. There wasn't much sport in it.

They really don't want you trying those out in store. Adult book stores are like that though, all uptight.

News flash:

Eagle Industries has started making Becker Patrol Packs again. In regular and large.

http://www.eagleindustries.com/products/products.aspx?id=1

I saw that too. I already have a call in to Murph and two emails in to Eagle Industries.

I'm looking forward to what Professor Biscuit comes up with on his call. Last Spring I found out from a dealer that they'd still make them if you bought bulk(like 80 or more) and they're all over seas made. I'm hoping this isn't the same situation.

I really like the DD cans.

Me too! I've looked into getting some for the wife, but sadly she's not willing to carry them.

I'm trying to figure out how to get sand and stuff out of my pack.

Car washes are great places to clean field gear! The flyboys washing their fancy cars on base hated when we returned from the field, they'd wait on us forever.

it's 1 dF here. what? WHAT? lol.

i need to buy a turkish spindle

practice andean and/or navajo plying

also bought a new to market splitting axe. guess! unless you KNOW, so don't.

plus a new WAP/NAT router. frakking old one was dying or just bad. new one is so fast it's blinding.
