it's 1 dF here. what? WHAT? lol.

i need to buy a turkish spindle

practice andean and/or navajo plying

also bought a new to market splitting axe. guess! unless you KNOW, so don't.

plus a new WAP/NAT router. frakking old one was dying or just bad. new one is so fast it's blinding.

Which router? I've got an earlier gen WRT110 Linksys Cisco number that is utter crap. Firmware downgrade required for even semi-decent operation, and that is sketchy at best.

Hell, I thought you'd went to bed.

So a couple weeks ago, I had a little accident at work where I nearly impaled myself. Now that the stitches are out of my abdomen, I can feel a huge ball of scar tissue that seems to be the size of the wound channel.

Kinda gross, but I felt compelled to mention it.:D

What on earth do you need a chest rig for? Those DD cans you can't get the old lady to carry? Planning on hauling them around yourself?

Instead of a vest or thigh rig. Oh my woman will carry them before I would.

Building a mix of 1/3 soil. 1/3 composted manure and 1/3 sand, perlite or vermiculite (in order of increasing preference) will give you superior structure, drainage and nutrients. It may actually end up being less expensive, too.

Gus, I see you down there. As I break in these shoes, when should my feet stop hurting? :p

If they're anything like cowboy boots, you have to splash around in creek beds for a day or two to loosen 'em up. I saw it on the Dukes of Hazzard, so it must be true. They will be nice and broke in just about the time they start falling apart.

Finally got my grinder unboxed and put together.

Convert that bad boy to run 2x72 belts, slap a tempered glass platen on it, bolt it down to the table, order some nice ceramic belts from Pop's or TruGrit and you'll be ready to rock. Dont' let anyone tell you "ya can't get decent grinds on a lowly Craftsman". ;)

It's always the dumbpuddah geeks that run stuff way past it's technological "sell-by" date. I'm wondering the same thing as D....one of those new Netgear Nighthahawks?

Let's just.....let it be, for the moment. Hell, it took me a month to un-box it....when am I gonna find time to to all that shiznit? I am going to get some decent belts for it, though; possibly even a leather 1x42.

Sounds like you did impale yourself.....

For various reasons, I'm not a big fan of powered stropping belts, especially on a machine that fast. Save a few bucks and just make a normal one.

Yeah, just get some fine grit belts for setting your edge and use your normal strops.

Morning gents. I took of of work this whole week to fork full time at my buddies shop and try to get some knife work done. Yesterday, I worked out at his shop for 9 hrs, then came home and worked another 5 in my shop. My wife came out and handed me a plate of food for supper and she was laughing. I asked her what was so funny and she said "I don't know if you realize it or not, but your well into a 13 hr. work day and your on vacation, maybe your a little over extended". I think I'll take off Friday and have "just a MY shop day"

Don't let my wife hear that. You're makin' me look bad :grumpy:

I know a guy who wired an old sewing machine pedal to his grinder that lets him throttle it up or down like a gas pedal. Pretty slick if you ask me.
