Can someone explain what the hell this topic is about?
I know, it's making me sad right now. 3V takes so long to polish![]()

For those who are nerdy like me.
Still plenty of polishing, and I need to "work the guard to look like braid," but getting there... First replica that I have heard about of Tam's heron mark sword from Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" series. 37" OAL, brass fittings (cause bronze is expensive), CPM 3V. The sword is supposed to have "nobby black leather" wrapping the handle, so I used a pebble backgrounder to provide the "nobbiness." Nobby actually means stylish, but I don't think that was the author's intent. It's also supposed to be made from virtually indestructible steel, so I figured 3V with Dan Keffeler's amazing protocols done by Peters comes about as close to legendary strength, especially considering the steels that would have been used in the days of swords. I'm looking forward to putting an edge on this and seeing what it can do.
