I Say Goodbye...

I enjoy The Balvenie scotch often....usually the doublewood 17 or the carribean cask. The 21 is pretty dang good also...just don't see it much in my shop.

Lately I've been on an Ardbeg Corryvrecken kick.

I have a bottle of Glenlivet XXV that's been daring me to open her. Maybe I'll wait until I get my Fat back Defender.

Great thread! I'm more of a Bourbon guy than a Scotch guy, but I can certainly relate to how you feel. I finished a bottle of Pappy 23 a couple months back ago and it was very sad to see it go, especially since it was my last bottle of 23. It's really not a sad thing though, it's a good thing, I spent some quality time with family and friends drinking from that bottle, and it doesn't get any better than that. Here are a few I have left in my collection; I have a lot of good quality time with friends and family coming up.

You most definitely know the right people.

Man! Dangerous thread--in the best possible way! Cobalt, the promise of desert sage has me on a mission! As for the rest of you... Love the pics and commentary, I'll be trying some new stuff soon!

I visited 5 distilleries last year and the one I was most impressed with was the Balvenie. Their 21 yr old is great and I am a fan of the triplewood as well. I'm actually in Scotland right now so will be heading up the royal mile in a day or two to see what I can pick up.

Speaking of lagavulin, Tesco's has the distillers edition just sitting on the shelf tempting me.

yes it is. I love all of their expressions. Their 18 is smooth, the 21 is excellent. But my favorite of all is the one they no longer make. I was lucky to find a few bottles laying around a small store. Their 16 year Nadurra. You put about 6 drops of distilled water per half ounce. It is 60% Abv. It is amazing stuff.

I remember the Nadurra... Tasted like summer blossoms... Honeysuckle? It was a while ago. Agreed on the 18... It was my go to about 15 years ago...

I have a bottle we filled up from the Glenlivet distillery that is excellent, only available on site. Picked up two bottles of the 16 yr old nadurra while we were at it. I've seen a few bottles of 16 yr old nadurra for about $85 in MD.

A whisky drinker after my own heart. I used to have Laphroaig 10 as my #1 go-to, but the Corryvreckan just blows it away unless I'm looking for a 'lighter' Islay. Laphroaig 1/4 cask, Arbeg 10, and Lagavulin 16 are also notably tasty and easy to find.

Hard to find but worth the price tag is A.H. Hirsch 16yr pot distilled bourbon.

I have had it before it is good but to me it is no better than the 16.

Here is one that I have a hard time saying good bye to. I am saving the last bit for a special evening. A week ago, my and a buddy went through half this bottle. I am guessing it will be finished by next month.

Love the highland park odin. Nice cobalt

Thanks to this thread I just had to buy a $240 bottle of Balvenie 21.

I said goodbye to a bottle of Patron last night. I have yet to acquire the refined taste in bourbon and scotch that you guys have.
