I saw one in the marketplaceWhere are all the 12 days knives fellas?
I had to adjust the lock bar before I could consistently open my MAC2.So all my buddies on here posting their McNees and I had to get mine out again. Still have a heck of a time flicking it open even just with my thumb. No way I Spydie flick. Ah well…..

thay tiny stop pin annoys me. im sure its fine and I haven't noticed it being a problem and dont expect it will be, but visually I just dont like it at all.....I sorta wish the Dixon had a swedge, but given that it's the beastier option, I'll let it slide. (I really like mine as well.)
I wonder if the relatively smaller size of the stop pin has ever been an actual issue as opposed to something one might simply notice in comparison to others with "beefier" pins.
I think it "looks" about the same size as what LG uses...but my eyes may have deceived me when I looked last night.thay tiny stop pin annoys me. im sure its fine and I haven't noticed it being a problem and dont expect it will be, but visually I just dont like it at all.....
you may be right. my memory has the McNees being super thin, but maybe its the bulk of the dixon in all other areas that is fooling me.I think it "looks" about the same size as what LG uses...but my eyes may have deceived me when I looked last night.
I'm sure this will be deceptive due to parallax or whatever distortion...but it is what it is. (The George stop pins "appear" to be larger diameter by eye.)

I was very motivated to toss a joke like that in, but I restrained myself...so I didnt get a noogie....Of course they are. More manlier!![]()
Yessir, this. The Dixon's hollow grind makes it more "slicy", as the MAC2 is a full flat grind*. That said, I found the MAC to be entirely serviceable as well, and candidly, neither knife has needed a sharpening as yet and I HAVE used them both for various cutting chores. The Dixon is just...man, if I could only keep one knife, and it couldn't be one of my Cold Steels, it would have to be this Dixon. Fills the hand, impressive looking, perfectly built, large enough for larger cutting tasks, still good sized for small cutting tasks, it's just one of my favorites.Quiet
Which of the two cuts better? I found that the hollow grind and thin edge on the Dixon went through phone book paper with a simple push cut for the most part.
I am carrying my VECP as well as my Dixon today, and to my eye you're correct. The Dixon's pin is of a smaller diameter.I'm sure this will be deceptive due to parallax or whatever distortion...but it is what it is. (The George stop pins "appear" to be larger diameter by eye.)

My mac2 was a gen1 and was in fact hollow ground. After the Dixon landed, I moved the Mac. The Dixon is that good that I only need one McNeesYessir, this. *norcalAF reported that his MAC2 was hollow grind, however, so clearly some of those might be in the wild! However, this one, as well as all the MACs that were on the table this year at BLADE, all were FFG.
