I want a "Tactilol" Knife!

The part you quoted is 1 of 38 suggested applications for this tool and the only tactical one. And, they haven't even came back to "cover these in the future". This tool is not designed as a tactical blade. But, a smart marketer will still add as many applications for the tool as possible to appeal to the largest customer base.

This example is not a tactical tool/knife imo and is far from Tacticool/tacticlol. YMMV.

And that is the essence of tacticlol.

Wait. Is it designed by marketers to appeal to the largest customer base, or "..functional, well thought out, bushcraft tools and designed ... for outdoorsmen(hunters, backpackers, bushcrafters, exc.)"?

Both of these are functional, well thought out, bushcraft tools and designed as such. They are also high quality and quite pricey. They definitely arent tactilol imo(which means cheap gimmicky tactical to me). I'm guessing your a city boy right? That's probably why you dont like their designs. They are designed for outdoorsmen(hunters, backpackers, bushcrafters, exc.).

Not imo. Tacticlol is a cheap, low quality knife designed mainly as a weapon and marketed towards 15 year old mall ninjas.

MTech is a perfect example of a Tacticlol company/manufacturer imo.

Swell. Certainly feel free to start your own "tacticlol" thread based on your initial conditions instead of coming in this thread and dumping on it.

I know its Wikipedia, but still...

a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.

We are talking about knives we think are tacticlol and are enjoying ourselves quite nicely.

Marketers often have nothing to do with a tool/knives design. They are brought in to help sell the product to as many people as possible.

This tool was designed by Ron Hood, a famous and respected wilderness survival instructor. Calling his tool "Tacticlol" is disrespectful imo especially because he unfortunately passed away in 2011.

The marketing department at TOPs says

It's also carried by campers, hikers, backpackers, hunters, survivalists, and outdoor adventurers throughout the world. Knife collectors have also decided to add the M4X Punisher to their collection. A perfect blend of beauty and usability make this knife an excellent addition to your outdoor gear or knife collection.

I posted a knife in this thread too. Remember the OP was looking for suggestions that are "ridiculous all black folders below $20" not $200 fixed blade survival tools designed by well respected experts in the field. I was not "dumping on it" I was simply giving my opinion on a suggestion that was far from based on the OPs "conditions" as you put it. You are now "dumping" on my opinion lol. If you don't agree with or like my opinion that is fine because we are all entitled to one. Feel free to disregard my opinion or even ignore me.

A perfect blend of beauty and usability

beauty and usability

beauty

This is some new usage of the word "beauty" with which I am unfamiliar.

Tacticlol is as tacticlol does. 200 bucks doesn't make things good. Just expensive tacticlol.

I didnt say a high price makes things good. I said the OP was looking for sub $20 "tacticlol" folders. The Atax is a fixed blade, well above $20, and not tacticlol imo. And, it is designed by a famous and well respected wilderness survival expert to boot. It has no place in this thread imo. YMMV.

Except that this is a thread about knives we think are tacticlol. That is the topic. (Not about what you think isn't.) I think its combination of nonsensical bells and whistles make it uber tacticlol, marketing-department ninja bait.

Think it isn't tacticlol? That's fine. Start a thread on that subject. But that's not what we are talking about in this thread.
