I want to believe - Survive! Speculations! Get it here!

154CM isn't any better than 20cv but may be easier to sharpen, and it'll take a more polished edge easier.

Trying to remember back here, but all of my experience may come from 154CM, not CPM 154 (non-Crucible vs Crucible). Chiral.grolim should have some insight here.

ETA: Looking at the instagram picture, that wrapped stack reads "154CM."

It does say 154CM, but it should say CPM-154. At least that is what I wrote the check for.

Could the CPM154 be material for an SK4.7???

Nope, too expensive. To be honest, I'm not currently remembering why we did CPM-154 other than just pure curiosity.

- Guy is working on new handle colors proprietary to Survive!

- the scandi grind was last seen at Area 51 and was apparently put under lock-down because it was so sharp it could split atoms ;)

I'm not sure where the handle thing came up. Either I'm forgetting something or Guy failed to mention something...

The scandi GSO-4.1s are currently considered scrapped. There might be some sort of miracle cure for them, but we don't have time to go looking for it right now.

What about an INFI 4.7? Hehehe...

No.

Poor Ellie is going to be black and blue from all the face-palming :D

I am entertained. I'm going to try my hardest to let you guys just go on, but there are some things that just need to be squashed.

That part played out over one Facebook :)

Thanks for playing along, Ellie. Definitely don't let this stress you out. I can't imagine our ramblings would cause any real trouble, so feel free to let us entertain ourselves.

I heard a rumor that they might be doing a gso 8
:D

I second the idea lf 01,1095 or 5160 for the budget lineup !

Oh, I love the SK4 theory! And if it's actually 154CM (and not cpm-154) maybe it's affordable enough?

Also it be cool to see a Survive! in O1 or 1095...

And there was a lot of talk about swag during the starter campaign. What happened to that? Is that hat part true?!
I believe swag is still going out with starters, but last I heard it would be things like stickers or maybe patches. Ellie mentioned they're looking into hats, but this is maybe in the back burner and definitely not shipped with starters.

Thanks! But it was Silver's idea really. :)
Ni1s definitely grouped all these loose ends together. A much needed discussion topic!

Even though my cpm154 idea for the SK's got shot down, I'm still really excited to see what they have in store for this line.

Lets be honest, no matter what steel, no matter what grind, color, or new design that Survive! puts out or surprises us with, they are a top of the line company and it will be awesome. I had never heard of Survive! when i was looking for my first higher end knife. I dont remember how i found them, probably by typing "survival knives" into google. But two days later id ordered my 7/7 in the starter. Since then i have had a 3.5 and a necker, and i am totally impressed with everything S! does for its customers. I am legitimately proud to have shown support to a company that is going to grow so much more and that truly shows its gratitude to those who buy their knives. This thread is great, mainly because every little "rumor" that has been posted got everyone completely excited. I'm not even talking about new designs, but simply talking about potential new colors created a buzz. That's not something that happens for knife companies very often, at least not that ive seen. Survive!, be extremely proud of yourselves, and thank you for the dedication you show every day.

P.S., I'd buy a S! hat in a second:thumbup:

I've never been a patch guy, but I'd be super excited!!

Fuzzyballs, very well said. I could not have said it better myself.

And yeah boys, if I don't get a patch with a starter, I'd definitely pay for one or more. When I read "hats" I envisioned a baseball cap. I'd definitely be up for one of those or maybe a beanie/knit winter hat. Any other design I'd probably be interested in as well. I need more of the mountain/flame logo in my life.

So, another speculation I just remembered was CUSTOM LASER ETCHINGS. Guy seemed to have been experimenting with that, but it wasn't feasible in the production line right now... But maybe in the future?

Actually, now that I think about it I had a CPM 154 blade (Bison by WA Surls). CPM 154 is an awesome steel IMHO. It is vastly different from 154 CM. I have no idea how it stacks up against 20 CV.

Here is some interesting reading...

Had is the operative word! That Bison is an awesome knife, as is the RLO sheath!

Allen uses a lot of CPM 154, and it is the only stainless Andy uses in his hand made offerings.
