I wanted to hate Yeller Derlin, but....

Made by Camillus. The Frontier series was short lived. I have bright yellow and pale yellow but they were only made in 1976.

It's actually impossible to hate as Yellow D lends itself by its simplicity to so many patterns in Traditionals.

As we have seen from this thread :D:thumbup:

I'm fairly certain my new addition NOS 835Y Schrade Walden is Delrin and not celluloid. Now I just need to find its bigger brother...

Although I'm considering commissioning a custom version of this knife in Westinghouse yeller, wouldn't it be great if one of the top makers would introduce a shadow stockman with scales such as Sheffield antique ivory micarta, yellow G10, etc?! Hint Hint! ;)

Now to pocket this knife which begs to be used:

Beautiful bird's eye trapper

Great pair of knives. Now you need stag and black to have them all. No wood in this model.

Edbeau, SAK guy...I really want the harness 15 and a TC...now I'm off to fleabay to try to find more frontiers, you filthy enablers. :p

Wish me luck. :D

(...)I'm starting to warm to the Yeller Delrin, it's not as cold, or sterile as I thought, there's an innate "organic-ness" to it, a warmth, a smoothness that I was not expecting, it almost feels like ivory, in a way, and maybe Case's choice of the tone of yellow used tends to suggest a "well aged ivory" visual suggestion to it....

I'm not really expressing myself well here, but what I'm trying to get across is that for some reason, a Yeller knife just looks right, and the sodbuster jr. Caught me off guard with the organic-ness feel of it's handles....

I think you described it perfectly, MacTech. I thought Delrin would have all the fondling allure of a Bic lighter, but I was wrong! Just got a yeller Case Medium Stockman in the mail yesterday and I really dig it. It feels good in hand: solid yet almost buttery soft and warm. Very different from the hollow feel of a cellidor SAK...

Well said by both you and MacTech. My soddie at this point is the only Delrin handled Case I have and it's actually a very nice material and lends toward a warm, comfortable feel in hand.
