I wonder why Kershaw won't answer my question

This thread has had its chance to discuss the knife, but not even the original poster really wanted that. I am moving this to FEEDBACK. If the self-absorbed whining of the few continues, I will close it.
 
Take a break Thomas, you deserve it. We will all be looking forward to your return.
 
I will say this:
I've bought Kershaw knives in the past and if I ever had even a very minor issue with them, I've always gotten taken care of extra well and fast, for free just on my word.

I've called them twice about a thumb stud that was dinged and a clip that wasn't in "perfect" shape. They sent me out new right away, no charge. ON MY WORD ALONE.

They even swapped out my ZT0300, for another because it had a speck showing through the black coating.

When I bought a new Kershaw and it had small rub marks on both sides of the blade Thomas offered to personally select a new one and ship it to me. (I didn't take him up on it I sent it back where I bought it)

Bottom line is they have went out of their way to please me, more so than other companies have. (I've been charged by others to get new clips on NIB knives with flaws because "they didn't sell the knife directly to me") So I will say without a doubt Kershaw does have absolutely the best customer service of any production knife company I know of.
 
Speaking of time to waste/burn, let's look at squeaky's patient timeline:

Post 1: 7:04 am
Post 2: 9:05 am
Post 3: 9:40 am
Post 4: 9:55 am
Post 5: 10:12 am
Post 6: 11:00 am
Post 7: 11:40 am

Who in the world has that much time to post during the day? Does he think everyone is on vacation with him? SEVEN posts on this thread alone on this forum BEFORE NOON?

When I am covered up, it sometimes takes me a full 24 hours to return an inquiry call.

You're on Central time. Thomas W's response was at 10:04am in his time zone (Pacific). Folderguy's initial whine was at 5:04am for Thomas W. I don't know what Folderguy expects done at 5 in the frigging morning. Perhaps it was TW's plan to go through his phone messages when he got into work that day. Who knows? Folderguy's expectations are unrealistic, and he needs to get his self-important ass off his high horse and quit telling Thomas how to run his own damn company.
 
A quick post at about 7 AM my time, to close this off

My initial post was about a customer service problem, having to do with a very real concern I had about MIM blades and their strength, and ability to resist inadvertent and unexpected breakage. I did my due diligence to inform myself in many ways to find out the answer to this question.

What happened after that in this thread was beyond my control, and some have taken me to task for my concerns and for having the audacity to try to get answers here after what I considered to be a reasonable waiting period. Several posters think my expectations were unrealistic; they may have a point, but I'm not willing to concede that point.

Some folks defend Kershaw to the end, and that's understandable. So did I before this episode.

Thomas W saw fit to keep an eye on this thread, after he announced he would be taking an extended hiatus, and he is to be commended for that.

THANK YOU THOMAS W for responding again. I AM SATISFIED with your responses. I hope you are able to withstand the incredible work load you have, and hope you get some needed rest as possible. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and all the folks at Kershaw.
 
The sad thing is that it is possible Kershaw lost one customer by not getting back ASAP/immediately/instantly.

I sure hope they will survive, I like their knives.......................

There was a member here once, he owns a knife company. He did his very best to please every end-user and every potential end-user but always encountered that one person that, to the common man appeared unreasonable. One day that one person asked his company a question and became irate at their failure to respond 24 hours after his E-mail and phone inquiries.

The owner, tied up with important business and after putting in 60 and 70 hour work weeks finally got back to this one person and responded; "I am so sorry, now go F**K yourself"

Yup, company is still in business.....................

Well lest see the Kershaw factory sale this week. Hmm prep for it and the sale itself...hmmm maybe they are a bit busy....you are asking a important question to you, but it is not earth shaking in the sense of timing, so slow down and wait a few ....
 
i will say i did not appreciate Thomas bludgeoning this "valued customer" over the head with his selfless sacrifice. that's just not a level of professionalism i'm prepared to accept. just examining one particular post among the many thousands he has made. those prior posts set a much higher standard than what i considered that one to meet.

Damn it I lost a bet with my wife! She said there would be one person by morning that hated that post...I said there would be at least 2 or more...:)

How has he been "bludgeoning" anyone in this thread? You don't have to accept anything. It is your choice to be overly dramatic so have at it.
 
If I throw a tantrum can I get a free knife? I can throw a pretty good tantrum if somebody will watch me, but I'm not going to waste my talents on an empty room....

And THIS... is one of the reasons I like Kershaw knives. I've personally never had anything but good experience with Kershaw.
