I wonder why Kershaw won't answer my question

If I throw a tantrum can I get a free knife? I can throw a pretty good tantrum if somebody will watch me, but I'm not going to waste my talents on an empty room....

I'll bet you one day when he grows up that that kid will get himself a free knife using those same tactics.

A hobby like ours would be so much better off without certain people in it. A couple of them are posting in this thread. As Kohaii has so eloquently stated(and poetically I might add), "pull a plastic bag over your head, and kill yourself", metaphorically speaking of course.

Keep up the outstanding work, Thomas (and Kershaw).

Damn it I lost a bet with my wife! She said there would be one person by morning that hated that post...I said there would be at least 2 or more...:)

Look I'll put this all to bed right now, and send Folderguy a free Offset to put through the paces. Please PM me with a shipping addy Folderguy (I'll expect on answer on this like toot sweet ;)) , and we'll look for your review down the road.

Professional enough? (don't answer I'll lose another bet for this question)

You have to love this man.

Thanks Thomas.

I do not deal nearly as well with the public.

I think part of the problem nowadays is the "instant gratification" generation. If it does not "come back in 4 seconds" all is lost.

I would love to see how some people perform in a real emergency situation as opposed to a request for information that is not an emergency and could wait.

Impatience is not a pretty trait.

Thank you, Thomas, for your patience in the crap-storm that comes your way every day.

I, for one, am embarrassed by the actions of a very small group of people in this community who feel they are somehow bettering us all with their "squeaks".

I hope everyone here has the chance to enjoy a nice holiday with family and friends, as I will be doing.

I am giving a lot of Kershaw / ZT knives out to family and friends this season.

very best regards -

mqqn

I am only going off the OPs question and have not read this thread thru just skimmed it but my point is it is kinda a general question and to what extreme are you going to put a folderr thru. Are you gonna try to pry a man hole cover up or baton with it ? folders are not made for this

My expierence when my daughter tried to hack open a coconut with a shun Ken Onion which is part of the Kershaw line up and badly damaged the blade. I mailed the knife to them telling them the exact abuse the knife took and offering to pay for it. They repaired knife free of charge even though it was blatent abuse

my point is in my mind they are a great company and everything I have heard about Thomas has been very good

Thank you Thomas, a class act as always. I have a G-10 Offset. It is a great knife. I use it at work and play. I have many Kershaw products, some of them are older than many members here. The reasons I have them are very simple. Great products, great value, and exemplary customer service. Very few manufacturers of any type can match what Kershaw does all day, every day.

OP surely you won't be taking Thomas up on his offer, that just would not be right. That was a very nice gesture but it is in no way shape or form an honorable way to earn a free knife.

:D

I called Kershaw 17 times once from a disconnected phone, 17 freaking times and no one answered!!! (of course it never rang)

It was about a Kershaw knife, I wanted to know if it would pry off a rusted hubcap.

So will it???? Here my address, send me a knife to find out!!!!! :D:p:D:D

If Thomas is still going along here, I hope he gets the message of how much he is appreciated by almost everyone. This thread just exemplifies how PATIENT PATIENT PATIENT he is with people, and how earnest he is in upholding the Kershaw tradition of quality service.

To repeat, he attends this forum because he wants to, not as part of his job description. I wonder how much free time and attention others give away on a national stage to protect the companies they work for....

Anyway, always a class guy, someone I would love to buy a glass of whiskey and cigar. (And of course, dispatch both over conversation!)

Thanks for hanging with us here, Thomas. More people here appreciate you and your efforts than you might think!

Robert

He likes Jameson Gold Reserve. :D

i have enjoyed the emotional responses in this thread, on both sides. it's the same cycle over and over just swap brands and/or "issues". someone impugns a loved brand either with or without justification and then it's a roll call where the ardent fan base proclaims brand to be without fail and anyone who has experienced otherwise is trolling, ignorant or an asshole. i was invited to kill myself for the grave transgression of voicing a non-supportive opinion of the beloved brand and its representative. that's rich stuff right there and absolutely archetypal of the fanboy response. strider has 'em, crk has 'em, kershaw most obviously has 'em. spyderco fans seem the most temperate and that would seem to stem from Sal's philosophy of "shiny footprints". you'd also never see Sal implicate the "valued customer" in keeping him away from his family and his worship.

just my opinion and i know the limitations that it has. i'm not trying to stir this cesspool but for having been accused of lacking perspective, why don't you try peeking around this way just a bit?

The problem is if people QQ endlessly then it creates a divide between the user and the companies on a neutral medium such as bladeforums.com .

I think its incredibly that Sal, Thomas, Jeff etc. all post on this wonderful forum about our weird lil hobby.
They don't have to and the fact that they try so hard to please and cater to knife afi's like ourselves is a testament to their character!

Would be a damn shame if this community spirit were to disappear because "squeaky wheels" turn a positive atmosphere to one of veiled attacks and demands.

Go on a car forum and see if Ford will reply and send you free stuff if you cry hard enough.

Very dissapointed in some users, and my respect for Thomas has quadrupled.

Kudos sir, Kudos.

If I wasn't a Kershaw fanboy now, guess you converted me. ;) Enjoy your vacation.

that is always a possibility. the thing with an opinion is, it just is. it's an internal reaction to the summation of external data. i do not have all the data in any situation and so my opinions can always be based on an error or an assumption. i took great care to say that out of your many thousands of valuable posts, i took exception with that one. i did that, i took exception. the purpose was to give you some feedback so you can evaluate how you are conducting yourself on the forums. i have no quarrel with you beyond saying, hey i think that was a poor choice of words. i do also take exception to being asked to suffocate myself for sharing that view. nothing more, nothing less. you are a valuable asset to this board Thomas. i thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. i see your struggles with this board coming from the lack of a solid personal/professional boundary here. i am pursuing an advanced degree in IO psych so i do have some basis. anyway, thank you all for the discussion. exchange of ideas always leads to growth.

Wait a minute here! So I've been a loyal customer for years, always working to sell your knives over anyone else's, buying every new model I can find, and even praising your ability to handle us psychotic vultures...and this guy gets a free discontinued knife? Well heck, Thomas, from now on I'll tell everyone I deal with at work that Kershaw sucks. That has to be worth a free something too, right? :p

Seriously though, another above and beyond move from you guys.

can't seem to PM you, perhaps i could send an email?

Post it here, I am curious as to how you have determined what Tom's "personal Boundary" is.

The one factor you seem to miss is that in this case my opinion tends to be in defense of Tom because the OP's remarks are just plain silly.

Like yours..................

I wonder sometimes why Tom stays so active here as a representative of Kershaw AND a member of our knife community and puts up with this kind of horse shiit.

And opinions like yours are, in my opinion, horse shiit!!!
