Did you try New Graham? The one I picked up from there last week had no stamp.

Thanks WVHILLS!

I found 2 today but given the threads in General and here on difficulty of opening, pointy thumbstuds hurting thumbs and the company's general attitude toward ignoring the desires of their fan base, I decided to stick with my axis locks. I do appreciate your lead though. :)

I, personally, kinda like it. I can see why some people wouldn't. And hopefully those same people can see why I do like it. I look forward to receiving my first with this stamp. From the pictures that I have seen it's seems ok in my book. Don't get me wrong though, it's not like I'm gonna quit buying them if they take it off or anything.

I just picked up a TNK small tanto 21 and was totally expecting the lettering, but it dodn't come with it. Truth be told, I was looking forward to the lettering, but it won't change how the knife works either way:thumbup:

Just got my Large Insingo, it has the Idaho Made stamp. I was a little disappointed but it's not that bad.

Well, as of right now, 375 people have taken the poll.

Of the 375 people, 61 people like it, and 314 people dont like it.

So just about 84% of people in the CRK forum do NOT like the Idaho Made marking (most of which have said they will not buy a knife with the marking). And let's be honest -- some of CRK's biggest fans/customers are on this forum.

Seems like CRK is making a pretty wise business decision to keep going forward with the stamp -- I mean, they have to show their pride, right?

"Screw my customers wants and desires, and screw the livelihood of my business; I have pride, so I'm putting this mark on the knife".

I guess I'd do the same thing, too...

Stop playing with the numbers to justify your opinion.

51.2% of voters said that the Idaho Made stamp won't stop them from buying a knife. That's a majority. Obviously not a very good one, but a majority nonetheless.

Never met a letter or a box that cared about the engraving found on other knives, I suspect this is true for CRK as well..A little late but I cast my vote just the same.

I just voted, but i guess i'm somewhere in between. I'd prefer it did not have the lettering, but if i had a chance to get something great, it won't stop me. However, i would strongly prefer it without. One of the things i've always loved about CRK is the simplicity of design and style. the lettering "Idaho Made" is obviously not flashy or anything... but it definitely does not compliment simplicity.

Well, I just received my small 21 with tanto blade from TNK. It is awesome.!! I can see why many regard this as the ultimate folding knife. In my opinion, it is much better than my strider pt and somewhat better than most of my Microtech folders. Unfortunately, it does have "IDAHO MADE" on the frame. The good news is that it is not as bad (noticeable) as it appears in the first pictures of this thread. The bad news is that it is noticeable enough to bother me. Nothing against the message, but the lettering detracts from the elegance of this knife. I love the knife and don't want to give it up. Is there anyone I can send it to that can make it look like the earlier sebenzas?? It is on the lock side so would it be feasible to buy a different Sebenza and switch blades?? I am not disappointed in the knife or the maker, I am just going to "customize it" to suit my tastes.;););)

Re: "Idaho Made" markings. I just bought a knife with the marking, and don't mind it too much. Looks better without it, but not by such a margin as to prevent my purchase.

The poll is interesting, but the real vote is with the wallet. The order backlog or demand for knives with the "Idaho Made" stamp might be the only way to get a handle on how people feel.

I don't care for the engraving, but I still love the Sebenza. The less markings on the outside of the knife, the better IMO.

What CZIV said

"the company's general attitude toward ignoring the desires of their fan base"

is troubling to me.
No, I will not buy one with the lettering, now if someone would happen to give :D me one I could maby machine the letters off and blast it again.

I held off on commenting for a while because I didn't have a Sebenza. However, I recently received one (without an Idaho Made stamp) and I can say I'm so impressed with the knife, the presence of the stamp in no way would stop me from getting another. I suppose I'm in the camp of "sure, it'd be great without, but it's still a great knife and the stamp won't bother me."

heck, I sent one back and had "Nukemkb" engraved on it... we get Idaho Made for no extra charge! :p

The pointy lugs ensure positive opening. Good for opening, bad for playing.

What "general attitude toward ignoring the desires of their fan base?" Does this mean Spyderco has the same attitude when they don't make knives with holes?

Excellent question.

I guess Maybe some do not realize, demonstrating zero tolerance in relevant progression will provide polyvalence in the stimulating of creative innovation.

Something to think about. :)

That's a good thing ensuring long life. I'm sure and not slamming the Sebenza's highly precision parts out of whack. I must admit I love smacking flipper knives open but I enjoy the hydraulic feel (as some aptly describe it) of locking the blade open on a Sebenza.

Is that all you can think of to argue with a vaid point I'm making while looking at the graph? Not that it's 100% accurate, but consider:

You've got 48.73% that either dislike it and will not purchase knives with it or dislike it to the point they will not consider future CRK and another 34.69% dislike it but will purchase knives with it. That's 83.42% negative response as of this post.

If, in my my humble retail websites, I got this sort of feedback on some changes I implemented, they'd be gone so fast, if you blinked you'd miss the change back.

Some men care about their customer base and try to cater to their "wishes" if feasible - Sal is the last man who's name should pop up in this thread.

CRK can do as they will, I bought a new/old stock large 21 today just because. I think a plain Sebenza is a classy EDC and a hard worker as well. Very light to carry and plenty of blade but not too much. I wouldn't have bought it with a stamp on it. The gentleman was kind enough to open it up and look for me.

In the exchange advertising says "Non Idaho stamped"...lol :p
