Half the people who have voted here will not buy a knife with the engraving on it. I know that the voters do not represent the views of all clientele, but if we consider some simple economics here and look at supply and demand, it's clear that demand is going to go down if Chris Reeve continues to place the engraving on his knives, which means that price may have to go down in order to reach equilibrium. Hey, if the price goes down, I would be OK with that and I would consider buying a knife with the engraving on it.

I'd pay an extra $100 NOT to have the engraving.

Seriously? Give me a call.

I meant straight from CRK. once I start customizing it with everything I want, say left-handed, double thumbstuds, (it'd be nice to have the newer washers), maybe a polished blade, it gets tough to find something like that on the secondary-market.

You can always find a left handed Sebenza add double lugs and a polished blade aftermarket.

The engraving does not bother me and will not deter from me buying more CRKs in the future. I like how my small 21 has no engraving, but I don't dislike my large Classic because it has the engraving. I carry and buy Chris Reeve knives for their supreme quality & function, and the engraving will not change that.

Also if CRK has to mark their knives more to protect against counterfeiters then I guess thats what they have to do.

Now that I have seen a picture of it, I do not like it, and won't be buying any more CRK's.

I don't mind it and kinda think it's cool. We should be proud that it is made in the U.S. and I would rather have "Idaho Made" than have it say "made in China".

The "Idaho Made" label on the Sebenza is an unsightly distraction from an otherwise clean design. I cant see it doing anything but hurting sales.

Only time will tell...

Is this for real?
A lot of the CR knives that leave the factory may still be the awesome knives that we all love for our own reasons but are never meant to be more than a work of art. I wouldn't purchase one if these beautiful Damascus blade, mammoth ivory beauties with this stamp wrecking the entire look if the knife, and although I don't care for it at all and wish that it wasn't there it'd really make no difference to me on one of my user CRK's although I rather strongly hope that this is just a hoax of some sort to stir up debate.

This is made even more bitter for mr because my initials are the same as Chris Reeve and it's a nice touch to his logo ( my initials ) on the knife with it otherwise sterile. Having made in Idaho on the handle in larger type than my monogram will kinda suck!

The IDAHO MADE text looks like crap on the Sebenza.
It was a bad decision on CR's part.

I really wanted an option of:
"Love the knives and do not care about the label." I neither like or dislike it. I bet most of the time I will not even see the words while carrying/using the knife.

I am not going to deprive myself of a great knife because of some cosmetic change that has nothing to do with its function.

My thoughts exactly!

id prefer not to have it, but it will definitely not stop me from owning a crk. the only thing thats keeping me from a new crk is this damn $5000 tuition bill due in january :(

did the logo have to be ON the knife? like on the outside? tbh i really dont like it, its just so out there, fairly large font and the only font besides the little CR logo....

why couldnt they have put it inside the knife, like on the liner or something in smaller font? maybe something like the birthdates on the titanium slabs like they do currents for the quarters of production (like B 07 or what not, at least i think its for the quarters of production) would have been a lot nicer.

to be honest, i suppose its nice to say yea, these are made in idaho/us, but i think sebbies are so nice to the point that is someone asks or is remotely interested in the knife, a quick search will prove they are CRK and us made. or you could just tell whoever is asking about it...

I hate writing on my knives. And the Idaho Made, just takes away what I loved about CRK. One of the reasons I LOVE the 21, is the lack of writing. I think IM takes away from the elegant simplicity of the Sebenza. I won't be buying any more CRK's, as long as it has Idaho Made on it.

The writing on the knife takes away one of the unique features of crk. Fighting counterfits? That makes no sense as the counterfitters do copy afterall. A real shame imo

There should have been a 'meh' option

I don't really care either way. However it would be nice to see a rush of "Idaho made" sebenzas hit the second hand market at extremely low prices :)
