If every citizen of the United States received a standard issue knife...

I am hoping that the ability to sharpen and use the general pocketknife will be part of Common Core standards (student must sharpen his/her No. 2 pencil) and state high school graduation requirements. :D:D:D

Elementary school will include knife use training, and every teacher must have certification in Cutlery. :D

This is 'Murica. Most of our wine comes in a box, and the good stuff in bottles are twist-off :D

Maybe in your part of the US, but out here on the left coast we like our cork screws. Of course we could just put all wine in a can.:D

Spyderco Delica4. They are light, good for EDC or outdoors, have a good blade steel, and you can pick from a variety of colors.

Joking, of course. I lived on the left coast for 30 years, where it seemed that every model home had its own cellar and a "wine station" in the kitchen. :-)

...I would hire two attorneys, skilled in fraud, to lobby the Future Users of Controlled Knives Department and advise them of my learning disorder, contracted in the last war, and which should entitle me to additional knives.

Once I was on Knife Stamps, I would direct the attorneys to look into off-shore knife accounts, fixed-blade arbitrage, folder bonds and contraband anchor babies from Central America in order to evade the Future Users of Controlled Knives Department.

Soon I would have all the styles of knife I wanted. Gotta love it here.

Future Users of Controlled Knives Department... I got that.... Funny..

It would have to be a Green River belt, sheath, or sheep skinner. I m partial to the Belt (Hunter) blade and with a little practice it is useable for a number of common knife cutting chores. With money you save over most of those previously mentioned a heavy canvas sheath and whetstone could be provided with it. Made in the USA. :)

bcknives: I sent you a visitor message about one of your old posts...with a question about mirror polishing. Thanks

Wait, TSA issue won't work. The knife we issue has to be made here in the US. 'merican made.

Unfortunately, by the time the government did its thing we would each end up with one of these, and the cost would run at least $100 per unit.

No need to dream. Just open only one tool at a time.

I did one tool at a time
just like i was taught

The demo breaking springs is known

And no I do not want to toss my knives and get a new one
I want a comman knife like the Demo to last

on their eighteenth birthday, which one should it be? Include your reasoning and preferably a picture of said knife. My choice would be the Spyderco Manix 2 with a flat grind, modified to be in 154 CM steel. The blade shape is great for all-around utility, the lock is reasonably strong for most outdoor and indoor purposes, the choil and excellent traction provides added safety for fingers, and it wouldn't be prohibitively expensive to mass produce, especially with the less expensive 154 CM.

Bad choice in my opinion. A lot of people fumble with that lock and a lot of people hate the lock myself included. Bought a lightweight blue one and carried it for a week now it lives in a drawer. How bout a delica.

1)140 million for commission study on the feasibility and possibilities 3 years

2) 70 million technology study on how to make knives safer. Stab proof and slice proof for the younger crowd

3) 30 million on finalizing design

4) $570 million on setting up a factory to make the knives decided upon. Coincidence is that it is located in the Senate majority leaders district.

5) $20 million on alternate designs for those with physical handicaps. Alternate knife designed and approved for handicap customers.

6) $7 million on "tooling" to make alternate in established knife company in district of ways and means chairman. News release announcing new union jobs in district from the knife.
