If money wasn't an issue...what Traditional knife would you want to get?

If money were no object I could afford more then one I guess.

I'd get me some Bob Loveless;

A William Moran or two;

And a few from Mr. Tony Bose;

Then I'd think about what to get next.:)

Good one. If money were truly no object the best thing would probably be to take a field trip with you and Elliot to Blade.

Something like this

I'm curious as to what these sell for, if at all. Found C. Gray Taylor's site.
I'm not going to buy on of these unless I win a lottery, then I'll get a Rolls Royce special ordered to match one of these. Anyway to help the dream, tell me if these sell and for how much and where.

A smaller less elaborate version of the Erickson sportsman.

IIRC C. Gray Taylor is retired from knife making. Those would be in the $6,000 to $12,000 range.

I'd buy my way to the front of Tony Boses' wait list and then ask him to make....a Lanny's Clip that is bolstered, mammoth scales, long pull on the clip, barbie shield and then have him make a brother Tribal spear. Then I'd have to hunt for my own food for a year, cause i'd be tapped out.:cool::D

Lol...that knife is long gone. :( Someone already made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Should've held on to it as it looks like Joonas is no longer making puukkos. It's been several months since anyone has heard from him and no one has seen any new knives come out of his shop.

Sorry to hear that, I really admired his work, at least the knives of his that I could find through the Googles. I guess I would have to take a trip to Sardinia then, and meet some of the fine craftsmen there that that make the Resolza's and Patadese knives, and hand pick a few fine examples. Then on to France...etc. :)

I second this sitflyer. I love the Resolza and the Custom forged ones you see on 'the Sardinian connection' are by no doubt some of the most exquisite knives I've ever laid eyes on.

For a slip joint I would try to get Ken to do this one with twisted W's Damascus.

For a fixed blade I would convince Lin to make me this with Damascus fitting and fossil ivory.

Chris

gosh, I'm boring. For fixed blades, I'd only get an Ontario 498 and 499, and a Buck 103 Skinner.
Folding, maybe a Buck custom shop 110 with pins, brass bolsters, and yellow G10 handle slabs.

Might have to go with a Bruce Bump slip-joint with mammoth ivory scales and a sheild made out of 4.5 billion year old Gibeon meteorite. He makes a SJ.

As another option, a prong horn hunter with black sheep horn by Bill Burke - like this one:

I'd be happy with a Gray Taylor box :D, which he also makes I believe. I think I saw a price in a Blade mag article a couple of years ago. The price was worthy of this thread, LOTS. Amazing knives though, a true modern master of the multiblade.

Best regards

Robin
