Leatherman Wave for multitool or SRKW Howling Rat LM for a fixed blade. I'd pick the Wave between the two.

Here's mine, designed by our very own 3Guardsmen:

The new Blackberry TFK (Tactical Fishing Knife) was designed for professional de-animators of fish! Wanna-be’s need NOT place an order! It features a quintuple heat-treated blade, gut-hook, and razor sharp “shark fin” styled “shreddr” saw. It comes complete with a fishing pole and reel (fishing line sold separately), so you can catch and clean your fish at the same time! A spaced ray skin wrapped handle will let the fish know what’s in store for them! There’s also a picatinny rail to attach flashlights or lasers (flashlights and lasers sold separately), to temporarily blind the little creatures just before you catch them. The knife also comes with a coffee grinder (coffee grinds sold separately) on the butt so you can keep awake while crawling through the weed-lined shore banks in search of tasty seafood.

Designed by I. Catchem, a member of the elite fishing group, “Pokemon Poll Packers.” This group is so secret that even the fish are unaware of their existence. That is, until they strike! Don’t be fooled by similar products, this one will keep you going while you catch the mother load!
:D:D:D

RAT Cutlery RC-3 it can be carried most anywhere and can handle most chores with a little bit of improvisation. Although I would be sick without my RIJBAK, farmer, and charge TTi.

Since a multitool is technically a "pocket toolbox," and not a knife, I'll assume that I get to keep my Leatherman Core.:p I would pick my recently acquired Chris Reeve Shadow III, but there are a few places I go on a regular basis that I would have a hard time taking it, so I'm gonna say my CRKT fixed blade Falcon. I know, most of you probably think I'm nuts, but it's the only fixed blade I own that I can take almost anywhere, wearing anything. By choosing this knife, it is all but assured that I'll have a knife on me no matter where I am. A tiny, cheap knife is better than no knife at all.

Looks even better in that setting George!

The Paladin, designed by me and make by Harm in South Africa.

For me right now, Cold Steel Trailmaster SM or Busse BATAC... I love to swing the TM but I feel I could trust the BATAC no matter what....

OK, OK... BATAC! Geez, talk about about pressure...

You bastids are going to make me drop coin on a RAT or two. Thinking about the RAT 7 for daddy and RAT 3 for son (he will be nine in SEP) and does well with his knives and it is time to get him a knife he can beat on. Plan on really getting into camping and hiking with him this spring.

Last time I took him out for a lesson we worked on building a shelter I used a Becker Tac Tool and was happy with the results. The Tac Tool rides in the Bag of Evil.

I used the TacTool quite a bit out in Idaho when we filmed Ron Hood's Vol 11 video. Loved it. Having the blunt end, with it's own separate blade, allowed us to do more potentially edge-harming things, and saving the main blade.

It was perfect for digging post holes, and digging up thistles.

The "gut hook" also functioned perfectly for lifting our trusty hobo coffee cans out of the fire without burning ourselves.

I arranged for some friends to receive RAT-7's in Iraq (contractors and soldiers). They've reported back ecstatically happy. Those knives don't quit.

Tha TAC knife is a huge favorite for the Marines. When I was down at Camp Lejuene a couple years back, they were all talking about them. The TAC was also the perfect size and shape to easily use to clear machine-gun jams.

The Tac Tool is a big little tool. Mine has been everywhere from busting windows on vehicle assaults to open doors on unattended deaths.

First, let me say I'm very glad this thread isn't reality. Second, my answer might change a little if the question allows a folder and/or an axe in addition.

Anyway, for me it would be --like Mymindisamob-- the Busse SFNO. It handles and cuts like a much smaller knife, but chops when necessary. And its made out of an extraordinarily fine steel. I really like RAT knives, and almost always have the RAT3 along with the SFNO or the RAT7. I just don't trust the steel & heat treat as much for it to be "the one".

Fixed blade runners up:
1. RAT3
2. RAT7
3. SwampRat RatManDu
4. Scrapyard Dumpster Mutt LE
5. Busse HellRazor

(Yes, I had to cheat somehow:D). The RC4 may climb up that list once it comes out if it will be as good as I hope.

If we can have an axe too, I'll take my GB Small Forest Axe.

Hmmmmm.......tough one. Well since modesty (and low self esteem...lol) would make me exclude any of my own, then that would be a tough call. Candidates would be my Ox Forge Special Ops Bowie, Craig Camerer Slim Pickens and my old, crusty mid 60's Bill Moran Airman.:D
