If you carry the same knife daily, what is it?

My riverhawk from David Mary I have carried since just before Christmas. The mild hawk bill shape makes it an ideal work knife. The DM scout I carry most days does everything the hawk doesn't do. I normally Carry the pair together. The Kershaw SO82BLK I carried every day for the 3.5 years before I got the riverhawk. If I'm off grid on adventure I carry the riverhawk and my lt wright.

Benchmade H2O (scuba / rescue knife / fixed blade) as a neck knife for emergencies.

Blunt tip for prying, rustproof N680 steel, button release sheath for wearer safety, partially serrated and only 14° total angle, as it's chisel ground.

It'll get me out of almost any hairy situation and I pair it with a whistle, flashlight and compass.

Very thin as well.

Bring on the natural disasters and building collapses... I'm ready.

Too big? -check.
Impractical? -check.
Low quality? -check.
Funky-looking? -check.
Sharp? -kinda
Discrete? - Hahahahaha, no.
My absolute favorite that gets carried pretty much every day? -check.

I think it’s because I got my first one under memorable circumstances, it was stolen under memorable circumstances, then I turned into a misty-eyed nostalgic middle aged dude and decided to track down another.

The funny thing is, I never really carried the original, just kept it as a sort of souvenir. I carried a small Case slipjoint every day instead. Now I feel nekkid if I leave the house without it…

From one misty-eyed nostalgic middle aged dude to another…well done sir.

I won't say my Leatherman mult-tool, as thats an easy answer as to why: It aids me in tinkering and fixing stuff. I've carried a MT since the autumn of 1999 almost daily with Leatherman being my go-to brand as of 2001 to present day.

As for the knife I carry, that has changed many many times. However, what I have settled on for the last couple of years has been an evolution of a particular family of knives: The Benchmade Adamas.

I purchased the Auto first. Loved the size but I found the action to be a bit fierce and after a bad bite when I failed to use the safety, decided that it wasn't my cup of tea for EDC. I purchased a Mini because I was going to be traveling to an area where blade length was restricted. I loved everything about it, and still do. However I generally prefer a larger blade for my day job.

I finally purchased a full size several months ago and have had no real reason to carry anything else save fore specialty reasons.

Stout build, about 4" of blade, solid lock up, amazing hard use steel, and if I may say so a very handsome design.

I've carried this same Victorinox Executive SAK every day since 1999. This pic was taken almost 2 years ago, but it still looks the same. Most days, I find some uses for it. It's not the only knife I carry, but it was the only constant (same one every day), regardless of what other knife or knives I carry.

In recent years, I've paired the Executive with my Spartan SAK, as they complement each other perfectly. From the '80s to the late '90s, my only EDC knife a SAK Spartan for over 12 years.

The other knives I carry in addition to those two SAKs will most often be a Spyderco PM2, Para 3, or a Manix 2; one of those; occasionally a different model. I use my Spyderco for cutting more than the Executive.

Let's say you've been carrying the same knife every day for over a month, what is it? Why have you settled on that design?

For me it's the Victorinox Camper going on 3 months. Does everything I need, without being too bulky. It isn't a decision any more, just drop it in the pocket every morning and go.

Hey dogstar. Not exactly a month, lol, but I’ve been liking my most recent purchase so far—the CS Mini Leatherneck. Definitely a cheapskate purchase. Carried it for maybe two weeks straight now? Pretty good.

Loved it more after sharpening it.

No matter what else I'm carrying for the day, my Malibu is clipped to my RFP. I don't see that changing anytime soon. It does everything I need an EDC knife to do. It's not in the way. It's easy, and fun, to open and close. Locks up tight. Magnacut is a dream to use. Etc etc.

Woah! What is the middle knife?

A tuff lite. It works. And it's cheap.

Although I will probably switch it out to a similar liner or button lock eventually. As being able to get it in and out of my pocket is probably the priority.
Kyzer do a swayback. I might switch it out for that.
