  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

If you carry the same knife daily, what is it?

Like many here I have too many knives to carry just one… the further I get into my knife addiction, the better the knife I am willing to carry however. A few years ago I never would’ve EDCd a Hinderer. But these days, I’m usually leaving the house with my trusty Eklipse Bowie in my pocket.
I’ve sharpened this knife 3 times now, it’s still solid as a rock, and the convex edge my KO Worksharp put on is holding up Really well.

Last year my ZT 0909 got the majority of pocket time.

Victorinox Huntsman 2 (Nylon scale). It is on my keychain nearly 10 years now. I tried to go with a Fieldmaster, but turn out many people have screwdriver while not many have corkscrew, its niche becomes its usefulness.

When doing job that I can't have my keychain, Cold Steel AirLite.

I've carried this same Victorinox Executive SAK every day since 1999. This pic was taken almost 2 years ago, but it still looks the same. Most days, I find some uses for it. It's not the only knife I carry, but it was the only constant (same one every day), regardless of what other knife or knives I carry.

In recent years, I've paired the Executive with my Spartan SAK, as they complement each other perfectly. From the '80s to the late '90s, my only EDC knife a SAK Spartan for over 12 years.

The other knives I carry in addition to those two SAKs will most often be a Spyderco PM2, Para 3, or a Manix 2; one of those; occasionally a different model. I use my Spyderco for cutting more than the Executive.

I've carried a SAK Executive like yours (except red) every day since the 1970s. Never lost one, but had several confiscated by TSA after 9/11. The last one they wanted to take I destroyed before handing it over, just to make sure they couldn't sell it. I also carried a Prince for several years before the Executive. I still find it hard to believe all these were taken off the market. Fortunately, though, I've got enough in reserve to last me forever (about 10).

For the last year or , it has been just two of the three knives. The Okapi usually stays home. I may substitute another third knife, but the two that go every day are the Opi 6 and the alox Electrician. The Opi does just about everything I need a knife to do during the day. Sometimes I tune up the edge on a coffee cup (because I can). On the SAK, the blade Inuse most is the short, straight stripping blade, which is ideal for blister packs.

I think we’ve got so use to SAKs that it’s easy to forget how incredible they are in the folding knife world.. this thread had so many Victorinox’s, not just compared to another knife manufacturer but compared to all the rest put together!

Below is a Vic Mechanic that’s been with me a couple of months now (I often have a tradition folder as well) and a Spyderco Bug that’s been on my house keys for years that’s just so handy.
