If you could only own 3 knives for the rest of your life...

I'd keep a 4" to 5" fixed blade with a drop point or spear point blade; a good, lightweight folder with a blade around 3,5" to 4" and a decent multitool or SAK.

These three are just an example.

3. *maybe* the fixed Spyderco Temperance Cruwear sprint. I love the design and the toughness..wish it was tough AND stainless, as I spend a lot of time on the water (Magnacut, Lc200n, AEB-L, perhaps Elmax or 20CV).
 
Well, here it is; Lon Humphrey Brut de Forge - Big and tough, nothing it can't handle - A brute. Bark River Fox River - great design, without peer for field dressing deer. Jeff White Bush One - without peer for skinning deer....They all do what they were made to do and do it par excellence and proven by me....lol
