If you could only own 3 knives for the rest of your life...

I really do think the Sebenza is the one and done perfect folder for me. Probably a drop point Large. I can't call the other 2, it just takes too much brain power to able to narrow it down to the perfect fixed blade, as well as something else.

After a little more thought, I guess it would be a Large Sebenza, a Leatherman Wave+ (or maybe a different multitool, I'd be real picky if I could only ever use one the rest of my life), and a full tang fixed blade in the 4-5 inch blade range. But that's one that I can't choose. There's just too many awesome options and my experience with fixed blades is much smaller than the mass of folders that I've touched along the road.

I feel similarly.

I could live the rest of my years with a Buck 110 Automatic and a Leatherman Rebar.

The rest is just too much to think about.

For pocket edc I would be happy with my small Sebenza clip point. I have carried it daily for around 3 years and have no interest whatsoever in making a change. It will clean my fingernails, pick stickers and cut all materials that I regularly use a blade for.
Truth is, I could stop right there and use other tools for any wood prep or harsh uses that I don’t regularly encounter but since I can have three I would add a 3-4” and a 5-7” quality fixed blade. Of what I currently own they would be CPK edc 1.2 or Busse radioactive meaner street for the 3-4” and CPK BFK5 or Busse satin jack tac 7 for the 5-7” slot. Mix and match either set and I would be happy and confident they would outlast me and the warranty backs that up even further. Outside of kitchen prep those are the most used blades I own and after years of changes , I doubt I will be making any more changes to the lineup.

Horrible thought, but for the sake of the thought exercise my list as of today:
Buck 119 (harder use, fixed blade, camping, survival, hunting)
Sebenza (bulletproof modern folder good for most things)
Case Medium Stockman (I would have to have a traditional pocket dropper, and one with multiple blades)
