If you had $650 USD to spend on a new knife…

I would go with the Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Skinny. ($425 + $200 ti-scale)

Also Medford's M-48 and Praetorian Slim. He's a pontificating a-hole but sure can build knives.

$25 for a Kershaw Lightyear in Neon, and $625 in the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index fund.

At my stage in life, I already own way too many knives. 🐈‍⬛

At this time, I’d rather invest in knives rather than Vanguard or any other stock. DOW down another 800 at the writing of this post

For that kind of money they are plenty of options.
‘Right now, if I don’t go for another Microtech, I’d probably shoot
for a Spartan Harsey in black DLC or with some of their artworks.

…what would you choose? The only parameters are:

a) It must be a folder.
b) It must be used in an EDC role, whatever that looks like to you.
c) It must be just one knife. (Having a bit of change left over is fine though)

One of the things I like most about BF is everyone’s different tastes and preferences. Thanks for whatever input I receive!
A vic Tinker and with the "change" a new cross flow smoker.

Based on a thread several weeks ago, I would look hard (when in stock???) at an Arno Bernard iMamba in mammoth molar or desert ironwood.
Someone I trust loves Ringhals as they are like Mnandi's, so I love them. Now I have to try one. They cost like $500 without exotic materials.

1. CRK Inkosi, Zaan or Large Sebenza
2. Hinderer XM-18 (lots of options)
3. Add $200 and get a Koenig Arius 🤣🤣🤣
I'd buy a new douk douk, another svord peasant, and a swisschamp. Those all currently cover most tasks for me. Then I'd make a principal payment on my mortgage with the change.
A Curtiss F3 medium or Large.
A Laconico would be nice too.

Am I a joke to you people?

;)

And for me it's the knife I already have, a Resilience lightweight in S35VN. The rest of the money can go towards belts, heat treatment, etc.

Buck 307 stockman?
(It'd be second hand "new to me", since its been out of production since Buck moved slipjoint production inhouse, rather than continue to contract with Camillus for all the 300 series slipjoints, back in the mid 90's(?).)
Alternate: Case large Amber Jigged Bone CV stockman.
Alternate: standard Victorinox Huntsman  or an Evo Grip 17.

I don't know what you mean by slow roll. They open at an average speed, IMO. Not as slow as Sebenzas but I don't think you can flick them open like you can with many moderns.
That answers the question. Thank you. I guess it was a strange way for me to ask if it can be flicked open.
