If You Had To Choose Just One Spyderco...

One Spyderco

If I can keep my fixed JK and Hardedge blades I'd choose my Endura over all the rest (but I'd cry a little every day :().

The Spyderco Gayle Bradley! I've had that knife for a while now, and I just keep getting more impressed!

The Gayle Bradley right now... but might change to the HAP40 Delica later on.

Unpossible!

But seriously, the Manix 2 LW Black has replaced my Native 2 FRN as my most carried knife.

The thing is, no single knife is optimal for everything. I expect my ARK to be a good, lightweight, rustproof emergency knife while I'm kayaking this week. I expect my Manix 2 XL to be a great hard use or SD knife. I expect my Manix 2 LW to be a great, versatile, lightweight knife that doesn't eat my pants. I expect my Persian 2 and Yojimbo 2 to be good SD knives.

I think 3 would be a better minimum. If I could have only a folder in an emergency, it would be my Manix 2 XL, but it's too much knife for EDC when not in uniform.

I really like the Manix 2 XL as well, and it makes a good pick for the 'you can do small jobs with a big knife, but you can't do big jobs with a small knife' reasoning. I think the question of 'just one knife' is a fun exercise in hypotheticals, just to see which knife people value most at this particular moment. We make a similar choice if we walk out the door with just an EDC; but for me, my most useful knife isn't my favorite. Heresy, I know; it's still useful, but probably not as much as my PM2. Fortunately, no ones going to sneak into our knife-cases and make this choice a sickening reality. Maybe I can use these answers as data for a bar graph! Bar graphs are more exciting than a super-sport combining MMA and bungee-jumping! MMA and Synchronized swimming! Gymnastics and power-lifting! Greco-Roman Wrestling and Figure-Skating!

P.S.: I really like the look and design of the ARK. I'm hoping I can wear one legally, claiming it's pure EDC, 0% SD. Good ol' Canadian knife-laws. There's worse though.

The action is silky smooth, the lock-up is safe, solid, and easier to disengage than any titanium frame-lock I've owned.

I found this (ALSO) to be very interesting on this fine folder. It was so amazing that I checked out some of my other Spyderco frame-locks, and the Slysz Bowie is just so SMOOTH and easy to disengage, but POSITIVE also...that it is remarkable.

I can't answer this question...but I will throw out the first Spyderco that enters my mind. The plain edge VG-10 Endura, even though I own many other Spydies.

Thank you. :) Spyderco did an amazing job of turning it into reality.

I would choose the new Proficient, and it is not even out yet! Why, because the Bushcraft is my favorite so far, and this new FFG version in S90V and carbon fiber will be absolutely incredible!

The Slysz Bowie is a slow-burner, for sure, but it's reputation is excellent, and more people are starting to catch on. I think a lot of the lukewarm initial response was related to the price. But after I started hearing how much people liked the design, it was impossible to ignore; so I've joined the chorus, singing its praises, and the lock-bar/lock-up is just one of its remarkable qualities, but something it does better than 99% of the Titanium frame-locks available. It's had more pocket time than any of my favorites like the K2 (it's big, but thinner than a PM2, so it's not that noticeable), ZT 0562CF, Sebenza 25, and XM-18 3.5 Slicer.

For me it is definitely a military in S90V, but my old orange S30V with black powder titanium low ride clip does the job for $145! : ) The new stretch 2 ZDP G10 and Gayle Bradley 2 are amazing too, and you can't beat a ZDP or sprint run stretch or endura. Everybody adores the paramilitary 2 too which goes without saying but I prefer the military. If you have a S90V or M390 military PM me your price haha!
