If you sell or trade Hinderers what do you EDC?

Since I bought my first XM-24 from a forum member, That's all I carry along with my Hinderer Extreme Duty Aluminum pen and of course a firearm with an extra mag or two.
I did just pick up a Large Sebenza that is absolutely perfect and can't decide whether to sell or trade it while it is still in perfect, new and un-carried condition or EDC it along with my regular EDC items.
In the past I have carried a:
Schrade Old Timer
Buck 110
Bucklite
Buck Workman
Gerber Gator
Cold Steel Ultralock Tanto
Kershaw Blackout
Cold Steel Vaquero Grande
Emerson P-Sark
Emerson Super Commander
Spyderco Para-Military 2
Spyderco Military
Cold Steel Prolite
Benchmade Auto Axis 5000
Microtech LUDT Auto
And, I'm sure there is a few I'm forgetting.
But since I acquired my XM-24, I can't see carrying a lesser knife.

Don't foresee myself selling or trading my XM but I do give it a break occasionally (rarely) in which case I carry my Sebenza, SnG, or Kershaw Tilt. Bear in mind though, I have had my XM on me almost every single day since I bought it.

even more of a curious thought, does rick or rob carry something else from time to time, or have a liking to any other knifemakers? i've never come across seeing anything in this forum about it.

I don't mean to speak for Rick or Rob, but from my recollection, I have seen Rick mostly carry an XM-18 3.5" wharncliffe (which I believe Lori may have commandeered from him lately) and lately he seems to carry at ZT 560. Rob typically carries an XM-18 3.5" (referred to as the shop knife).

I carry an XM-18 3" spanto daily, I would love to have a 3" slicer or even a 3" wharncliffe if the opportunity ever presented itself. I will also carry an XM-18 3.5" or XM-24 on occasion.

For non Hinderer knives, I will on occasion carry a Spyderco (Chicago or Manix 2 or Dragonfly).

I bought an XM-18 on the secondary market recently, and paid a small fortune. It is a great knife though, so I don't feel bad about it. I am going to be ordering a knife from Hinderer when they start up production for the XM 18's around August, so I plan to have one to EDC, and one to keep for posterity.

As far as I know, they have already begun production on the 3" XM's. Is that what you are referring to? Also, will they be accepting orders from the general public or are you a LEO/Military, EMS etc. ?

The poster is speaking to a guess and guess only of approximate production of the next batch of 3.5".

No, there are no changes that I know of to how purchasing works.

To All----Please refrain from price and availability in this thread.

Ok. That's what I thought. Just wanted to be clear. Thanks.

I am a little surprised more people did not post.

I guess there is a divergence in those who hang out in these areas and those who are just in the exchange area. I really thought there would be more overlap.

Oh well, thanks to all who contributed here.

My first Hinderer arrived this past Saturday, a 3.5" XM-18 Slicer. I like it lots. I typically EDC three knives, not counting rescue knives and hooks and fixed blades in vehicles or the ones sitting on or near my desk. I pretty much always have a SAK Classic in my pocket - love the scissors. I have a variety of Benchmade and Chris Reeve that fill my medium and large folder EDC use. The new XM is definitely in the EDC group now. My favorite letter opener this week is a Chris Reeve Mountaineer. It gets the job done. ;)

I also EDC a Sanrenmu 710! :)

How cool would it be if Rick, Rob and Crew posted pics of their EDCs?
After all, they are who "sell" the Hinderers.

I carry a variety. From crkt heiho, protech tr3, benchmade mini infidel presidio, microtech troodon and now myZT 561.
If there is anyone wanting to unload a xm 18 3.5 gen4 I'd give it a good home.

me too:D

BTW, i don't sell nor trade XMs but i do own one so i decided to show my alternative EDCs

It's all good.
This thread contains a few posts from people that don't sell or trade but shared their EDCs, and that is cool!
I found it educational to learn that many carry more than one knife either together or in rotation.

I have never sold or traded a Hinderer either. I was just curious what was in the pocket of people who made the difficult decision to release their Hinderers.

I carry one stonewashed xm-24 flipper, but in a Zero Tolerance brand (nylon with velcro closure tactical type, costs about $20.00) sheath. It fits perfect, but I wouldn't try it with any beadblasted models,as the material might scratch the finish.I used to carry a 24 clipped in my pocket.Had one with me at my warehouse job,had to squeeze between some pallets, must have dislodged the knife from my pocket, lost a camo g10 xm-24 that day, about $900 down the drain, but nothing is permanent, still hurt like hell though!
I keep my other 24 at home, waiting for afterwork stress release flipping, right on my endtable!

I tried to contact a rep of the Hinderer company here a month or 2 ago, inquiring if he directly sells to foreign active soldiers. Never heard back.

Does anyone know if it`s US mil/leo/ems personell only?

If I had a Hinderer and I`d sell or trade it I`d carry a Paramilitary 2 or a Military.

An XM, once in the pocket, rarely stays out of the rotation for long, if ever. I sold my Spanto for a steal and replaced it with a Slicer when they came out. I do miss the Spanto, though. So, the XM is always with me with, on occasion, support side support from either an AFCK or, well, I can't think of the last time I carried anything else, hmm. BTW my XM is currently my only flipper (once I sell my 0560) I can't go back to a non-flipper for an EDC (except maybe a cute little 3"). I am in the process of having a custom made and we'll see how the effects the status quo.

Side note - I was unlocking my XM this morning after cutting my bagel and could find absolutely nothing perceptible to let me know that the lockbar is disengaging from the tang. There is no friction when unlocking, no sound, nothing. SMOOTH.
