If you sell or trade Hinderers what do you EDC?

I don't really qualify to comment because I don't trade or sell my Hinderer but....I will anyway.
I used to Rotate my EDC knives, not all but about a dozen or so.
Now I carry my XMs exclusively. I still tried to rotate but gave up because it made me crabby the days
I left the house and missed my XM.
I'm not fun when I'm crabby.
Now I try to EDC my non-flipper and the flipper goes back in my pocket so I've gotten even more ODD
than I was before.

So, basically, you are saying you EDC a flipper to maintain an "inner peace", and I fully understand.

I just have one XM18 3.5 that I picked from secondary market. my hands shake every time I grab it and remember how excited and nervous I was until its arrival when I bought it. Worth every penny I paid!!!!!! and yes, I use that MOFO :-)
I also have a Strider SnG
Too many hobbies and too little money made me keep this 2 for now. I have used CRK, Spyderco and Emerson too!
Will buy another CRK if I get extra money laying around and defnitely would LOVE to have an XM24 in the future

I've made the mistake in the past in selling a XM-24. Within a month I had another and will never let go. I think its one of the top few EDC's out there. I usually EDC a ZT, Hinderer or CRK. I also have a custom Elishewitz on the way which is going to get a ton of pocket time as well.

I own too many knives, including Hinderer XMs (3, 3.5 and 4 inch), Sebenzas, Yunas, Striders, ZTs , Spydercos, Benchmades, SOGs, Randalls, Bokers, Cold Steel, Mayo, Al Mar, Microtech, and many others. What I carry on a daily basis, strictly for practical reasons, is a Spyderco carbon fiber Sage liner lock. I occasionally will carry one of the others, but the Sage is my constant box opening, cord cutting, letter opening companion.

You knocked the dust of an older thread, but it's still relevant.

Your post is relevant if you sell a Hinderer.

My original question of if ones sells such an great knife, then what knife do they EDC. The reasons can be several. A Hinderer might be too (fill in the blank) for your needs, or it's a grail you cannot bring yourself to use, etc..

I buy and sell Hinderer's, I have never traded yet. What do I EDC.....well of course a Hinderer. I like carry and sell quality. I know when I use my Hinderer, which is all the time I will never be let down and when I sell one I know the buyer will be very happy. In the long run quality is free.

My first Hinderer arrived this past Saturday, a 3.5" XM-18 Slicer. I like it lots. I typically EDC three knives, not counting rescue knives and hooks and fixed blades in vehicles or the ones sitting on or near my desk. I pretty much always have a SAK Classic in my pocket - love the scissors. I have a variety of Benchmade and Chris Reeve that fill my medium and large folder EDC use. The new XM is definitely in the EDC group now. My favorite letter opener this week is a Chris Reeve Mountaineer. It gets the job done. ;)

Mountaineer is a nice fixed blade. I just admired my M1 today.

do you get the Hinderer's you sell directly from the source?

While I'm pretty certain I'd never trade or sell my XM-18, I do switch between it and my other knives. If I go into the city, I take my Snody friction folder for legal reasons. Otherwise, I'll carry my DDR Trigger, SnG, or Emerson CQC-7V.

I do not sell or trade either. But often when I travel by air I will leave my Hinderers at home, pocket a 0550, 0560/0561 to the airport (then leave in my vehicle), and have two knives in my checked bag. A waved Delica and a mini grip. I often also pack a letherman juice into my toiletries, can come in very handy. All good tools that I don't want to lose, but wont hurt as bad as losing a Hinderer.

Well, I can't tell you what I'd carry if I sold or traded my Hinderer, but I can say I sold a small 21 Insingo that my new 3" XM-18 replaced...

Yep, the Hinderers often dethrone some nice knives for EDC. I own many arguably nice folders, but the Hinderers get primary and secondary (when I carry two or more folders) duty.

just as a general question, if you qualify for the hinderer website order for military ect is there a limit on how many you can purchase? if not, theres a good market there for profit. that would explain this predicament.

also, i live an hour from Plaza Cutlery, and they sell hinderers (when they have them, normally for 8 hours lol) for around 800$
Thats a lot of money for distributers, it would be hard for me to believe that the people who do the easiest part (sell them) get the most money.

Check the most recent sticky on change in sales policy.

There are indeed limits. Only authorized resellers work directly with the shop to facilitate sales to purchasers not allowed to buy direct.

For me, I look at it this way. It's easier to get money than to get a Hinderer. So, I do not sell mine but do look with an open mind and a lot of patients to purchase more. And I believe that once a knife is yours, you may do with it as you please.

If you are buying just to flip for a profit, that's not my favorite behavior. But, as stated, once an item is yours, my feelings on what you do with stuff don't matter at all.
