If you were to have to go into war what 3 folders would you take.

3 folders?

Benchmade Adamas
Victorinox Swiss Champ
Kel Tec SU-16 :)

I'd love to hear about how your Socom performed in that environment and for the tasks you were doing, if you would like to share.

Performed great. I keep my gear properly maintained.

(Never had any weapon malfunction either)

I woud take a Buck 110 and a Victorinox Fieldmaster. My third choice would probably be a stockman, maybe a Case 3318.

If sticking to the OP's three manufacturers, I'll go with the Benchmade Adamas 275 and 760SBK for sure, but I only have one Spyderco (Ulize) that isn't a "go to war" knife in my opinion, and my ZTs (0801 and 0770) don't really have what I'd want for that role either. Opening it up to other brands, I'd stick with the Benchmades and add either a Buck/TOPS CSAR-T, Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn or SOG Spec Elite.

A trifecta of death: three zdp-189 spyderco dragonflies.

Come at me tank!

My sister-in-law was EOD back in the day, and she told me everyone in her unit carried both a Gerber multi tool and a CRKT M-16 with the AUS-6 blade.
She said the multi tools were used to actually disarm the explosives, so the folders were used for dirty work-digging around land mines, opening MRE's, etc. she said the flippers were smooth, the works wouldn't clog up with sand or mud, and they could sharpen the blades to a useable edge with what was on hand-a flat rock, the file on the Gerber, even the edge of their bootheels.

Dare I ask why folder? I feel like a few fixed blades large and small would come well before a folder to me...

I'd have to go with the Grayman Satu, the Umnumzaan and the ZT 0301.

When I've deployed to a combat zone, I took along a Swiss Army Knife and a small traditional slipjoint. Was well equipped with those. A multitool stayed in my hooch and was rarely if ever used so I didn't always take one with me.

I also love the Native. It's a great knife!!!
A SGM buddy gave me a Native in Iraq. My reaction is still, "meh". All these years later I've yet to take it out of the packaging.

I agree. I have a ZT 0801 and love it, it has to be one of the smoothest flippers I've ever handled, however, I'm with you its not a war go.

If I were going to war, I probably wouldn't choose 3 folders; but I'll play along...choosing from models I currently own.
ZT is easy - as much as I love my 0550 and 0801, it would be my 0200 that came with me (just like it does every day in real life).
Benchmade - toss up between the 950 and 581, but I'll take the 581 because I love the m390. (Not really a "war" knife; but it is the Benchmade I currently use/carry)
Spyderco - that's a tough one, because I don't like any of them enough to carry now; but I guess I'd go with the Manix 2XL in s90v.

Thanks for all your posts and comments. Really makes me feel welcomed into this community of knife lovers. Please keep the posts/comments coming and remember to add some pics if possible!!! Also on another note. What do you guys think about Surefire knives? Like I had already mentioned I own a Surefire Delta EW-06 with the micarta scales and the S30V fixed blade, absolutely love it. Anyone else have one? I think they have been discontinued or they are just very rare....

All id want to bring along is my CQC-7A and the Vic Farmer....I guess if I HAVE to add a third it'd be the Spyderco G-10 Police. And thank you all who have served, much respect
