I believe its some kind of carbon steel. The large one has a patina. I'm just not sure what type of steel.
I would also like to know what kind of steel!
 
Not too far from remembering my teens (I'm 27), but I am glad to have all of you in our community. There is no better forum.
I only wish I had Bladeforums in my teens.
And Case Surgical is some type of stainless and works just fine!

Yes! they are slip-joints, the one with the patina is case CV (Chrome vandium) which is almost identical to 1095 with a slightly different vandium content. The smaller uses case "true sharp" stainless. Which I believe is just Latrobe 420HC. I should point out case runs their steel softer that most companies, around 48 RC (rockwell hardness) if i rember correctly. Both good steels in my opinion. :)

Sold that Spyker to TotalDbag41 :p sold a meerkat to another guy at about the same, sold a chaparral 2 a wee bit before that , had a few others that aren't passing over my head

About to try get into Dalibor Bergams book for a Sirius
 
Well, since is is my thread I feel obligated to post my own collection pic. But not yet, i'm still waiting for a Kershaw G-10 Speedbump and BM Mini Grip. :D

Plain Jane satin drop point, and basic black handles. I'm keeping it simple because I want to get a feel for Benchmade while not spending too much money (at least at first)

I thought the same thing and i bought a plain satin and black handled one. Its deffinately one of my favorite knives :)
