The smaller uses case "true sharp" stainless. Which I believe is just Latrobe 420HC. I should point out case runs their steel softer that most companies, around 48 RC (rockwell hardness) if i rember correctly. Both good steels in my opinion. :)

What is buck running there 420 at by comparison??

I like 1095 CV, I'm a KA-BAR addict so it comes with the category.

Well i'm 14 now, and turning 15 next month. Glad to see I received so many replies to this thread, it's cool to know there are many others near my age group
 
Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys. Those are both case sodbusters. The smaller on is their tru sharp surgical steel and the larger on is CV. It looks like you guys found that out already though.

here is my current collection
minus my swamp warden and CUDA EDC and a rodent solution that is getting here today

That can't be right. 48 RC is ridiculously soft; no-name Chinese crap is run harder than that.
