Fallons Knives entered into a trade/cash deal with me for a 1 of 3 Busse Axe. We agreed on a set amount in value for the knife he traded and the balance would be in cash. Also I requested and he granted first right of refusal before he ever sold it. He was purportedly buying it for his son who was in Iraq. He made several mentions of his son and his service during the transaction. He told me I didn't even have to ask for the first right of refusal seeing how he intended to keep the deal under the radar and if he had to sell it for some unforeseen reason I would be the first one to get at it. I would not normally trade such an outstanding piece with a member who had so little in as far as a track record was concerned, but others trusted in me when I was a new guy and I believed in returning the favor. This time it has seemed to bite me. I gave him a couple of months to come up with the balance back in October. Since we both had a healthy valued blade in the mix we agreed to ship at the same time. I had a couple of day delay i informed him of as I recall and he told me his had gone out at the time we agreed one. I felt bad since I had been a bit late. His didn't arrive and I got worried, Here the time line for his shipping:

10/27 He took it to be shipped and who ever was shipping it for him said they would email him the tracking #'s

10/31 he sends me a message says his info shows it should have been at my place on 10/30, to which he happens upon it on his front step. He double checks the address stating he thought he made a mistake, after verifying the addy he is taking "it right now and overnighting it" and "youll have it tomorrow before 3. ill post the tracking number when i land."

11/01 he is sending his daughter in law to pick up the axe and she was sending him my tracking info as we spoke.

11/02 states he is sending his daughter in law to get the axe tomorrow, never got my tracking info from her, but he was going over there tomorrow so he would get it then and et me know. Also said he was sending me cash at the is time as well, I don't know where that ever ended up.

11/3 he sends me a pm saying he deleted my address, his wife is @ the PO right now and he hoped that I got the message soon so he could relay it to her.

11/3 after I say what the hell, you said it was already on the way, overnight even she blames it on his wife, calling her an idiot, his words not mine, saying she sent it to the wrong place, says he got my addy right from the box the axe came in, tells me he has it and how much he likes it. Swaer he will overnight the trade knife off "tomorrow" and he adds "i know your frustrated. but my son in iraq has been having some trouble and i relied on my wife to get this done. i should not have and i will take care of it tomorrow morning first thing. again i am sorry for the delay but you will have it by wed at 12 noon. please dont think im jipping you. i am not i jsut have been having some problems with my son and it doesnt look good. i will take care of it tomorrow i swear. thank you for understanding..."

11/4 09:43 he's leaving now have tracking soon

11/4 16:30 sends me some tracking info says I should have it tomorrow

11/5 it does show and I acknowledge it is a nice piece. (I KNOW IT IS AT THIS TIME I SHOULD SAY SCREW THIS THE DEAL IS OFF SEND ME MY FRIGGING AXE BACK, BUT I FOOLISHLY STILL GIVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT)

11/5 says thanks and then mentions his son's problems in Iraq again. (I feel for folks who have kin serving, but it is at this point that it is sounding more like a ploy to me than anything sincere, which pisses me off. Don't play on the emotion folks have for those who serve our country!)

I eventually got it in a reasonable time after he last indicated it was finally shipped. It was with all of this that I really began to regret this deal, but I figured the knife was in hand and I recouped the majority of my asking price in the value of the trade, if it took him a little time to get the funds together, I could live with that. Times are hard for everybody right? November went, nothing. December went and I find that he has sold the axe off with no contact to me offering it back as we had agreed, he gave me an excuse of not being able to reach me by pm or email. I did not have any outages in that time period so I consider this excuse very thin, to put it nicely. He advises me that he had to take a job in Alaska last moment and had to move it. In a pm dated 12/04/08 he indicates that if I can wait for the cash until after Christmas he'd get it to me. It is now the middle of March and I have made several attempts to contact him asking how things are coming along, does he have even some of the money he owes me and I get no reply. So the other night I check to see if he has even been on lately, sure enough he had been on within the last 48 hours, I check his posts, I find he's looking for a GB axe and offers to buy a blade from another forumite for nearly what he owes me. That was the last straw. Pay me what you owe me, be a man and make things right.

On a side note anyone who knows Fallons Knives might be able to shed some light on just exactly who it is I have dealt with here. I got the impression that this fellow was the father of a soldier named Sean who is serving overseas, but I see he goes by Sean around here and the direct emails I managed to get from him were also from a user named Sean. Now I know a Sr./Jr. thing is a likely explanation here, but the messed up nature of this deal and some of the double talk I have gotten in the communications I have from him at the beginning of this thing have me wondering. I have pm's where he states his son is Sean Young and his daughter in law is named Lacey. At first he was going to have me send it to his son's name and address, I say well if I am shipping with a signature required, how will your son get it while he is serving over in Iraq, that is when he gives me his daughter in law's name Lacy and a mailing address of 2321 Grindstone Parkway, Columbia, MO 65201. Anyone have dealings with this guy have any info to share?

I will not do any more business with him, he had better make good on his end after all the BS and double talk. I warn anyone who is going to deal with him, be sure you get your stuff first before you ever send him anything. Keep all your emails and PMs too, they come in handy.

Using the " I have a son in Iraq" can I get a better deal is about as low as it gets. :barf: I hope that this is not the case...I will be watching this thread.

How much money are we talking here?

Ren

Hi Progunner - Before he got the Axe from you, he also agreed to buy a Sabre SFNO from me. He said he would send the money, and never did. When I contacted him, he said give him a couple more days, and then no more communication. When he bought the axe from you I was pi$$ed to say the least, and I should have wrote something here in GBU, but I thought I would give the guy a break because he used the same my son is in Iraq and coming home BS on me too.

This is shaping up as theft. I would appreciate it if he would join this thread with an explanation.

Edit: I just PMed him with a link to this thread.

Here's a link to were that clown abuses the axe he stole from Progunner.:mad:http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=595674
What a kick in the pants, someone steals your stuff, abuses it and posts pictures. I am surprised Progunner's post above was so cordial, I'd be livid.

I hope this gets worked out Progunner, this guy is a real piece of work.:barf:

Thank you for the heads up, he's going on my list.

Alright guys i will shed what little bit of info I have here.

I am the guy who got the 1 of 3 axe but I didnt buy it I traded him a couple of my Busses for it. He also told me that he had taken a job in Alaska and that he needed to do a deal fast so he would have the knives to take with him.

I did not know that he still owed Progunner money or I would have never done the deal.

I have had two transactions w/Sean and considered both to be good transactions but this is defenitly not cool and i hope he will chime in and at least try and explain whats going on.

didn't he start with another username and change it to fallon's knives?

may not be relevant, but it would give a search history some more detail.

He used to be knifeguy999 and may or may not be named "Chris" and not "Sean." He was mentioning his son being in Iraq before his dealing with Progunner and UDDwaine and has logged in under knifeguy999 as recently as this past Saturday.

PG -- time to use the legal system. As always, you have been extremely patient and (in this case) overly kind. You don't have to put up with this.

I think it's time this fellow learned a lesson, and you're going to have to use the legal system to teach it to him.

None of this is "cool" with me.

[OK, I'll admit the use of a "warfighter in Iraq" as an excuse to get a good price really ticked me off. We old vets do NOT take that sort of thing lightly.:mad:]

Right after i posted my comment in this thread I scrolled down to see who was viewing this thread and it was myself and Fallons Knives, so I know he has seen this thread and has not commented.

Thats really not cool.

Damn, that is just bad. I hope he bothers to explain his situation.....if there is any explaining....

Sorry to hear all of this, Progunner. This is disgusting, and I wish you the best. It's also funny how that guy is here reading the thread right now..

Sorry to hear about your bad trade, I also feel that you were extremely patient and it must have took a whole lot of self-control to have posted with as little name calling and profanity as you did. I too will be watching this thread to see how it turns out.
